Daily Dirt, December 12th, 2006 post #1  quote:

It looks like Britney Spears is out with a new man – and it turns out that he used to work for the family. Britney has been stepping out with Jonathan "J.R." Rotem, a multi-platinum music producer who's worked for Rihanna, Paris Hilton, and, yes, Kevin Federline. The pair were spied kissing in public on Sunday night, then went to a movie before heading back to Rotem's place. K-Fed, of course, was an employee before he became Mr. Spears.

Nicole Richie is free on $15K bail after being arrested for DUI. Highway Patrol stopped her for driving her Mercedes SUV the wrong way on the Ventura Freeway shortly after midnight. Officers say she was disoriented and needed help getting out of the car and walking to the passenger side. She told the officers that she'd been with her boyfriend Joel Madden that night. Then after she failed two field sobriety tests, Nicole admitted that she'd taken Vicodin and smoked pot earlier in the evening. But she still had to submit a sample of body fluid (?) that will be tested to determine exactly what she was on. By the way, Nicole's driver's license says she ways 100 pounds, but she told the officers that she weighs 85.

Sir Paul McCartney will give his estranged wife Heather Mills a $235 million divorce package to safeguard his health, according to a British newspaper. The News of the World reports the former Beatle was urged to agree the deal by his daughters Stella and Mary because they are concerned the bitter divorce battle is affecting his well being. The siblings reportedly told their father, "If this goes on, it could kill you. Being happy is more important than money." The newspaper claims McCartney will publicly give his estranged wife a mere $19.5 million, most of which she'll donate to charity. But she'll actually secure an enormous secret package including $5.9 million a year as a divorce settlement, $15.7 million to buy homes in America and Europe, $5.9 million for English accommodation and more than $3.9 million a year for staff and general expenses for the next 15 years. One of McCartney's aides tells the newspaper, "It's a done deal and Paul is relieved."

Can someone just read the lines for Jessica Simpson? The singer-sometimes-actress had trouble with the lyrics to "9 to 5" at the Kennedy Center Honors, and now she's having difficulty remembering her lines on the set of "Blonde Ambition." The rumor is that the director had to hide a mike in her ear so that someone could just feed her the lines during the seventh take on one shot. "Everyone was embarrassed for her," says a spy. "But she laughed it off, saying, 'I'm sorry, everyone. I'm sorry.'" Jessica had at least one supporter: Co-star Luke Wilson "patted her on the back and told her it would be okay."

It's been rumored, but never acknowledged or proven that Queen Latifah is a lesbian. But sadly, the not-always-reliable gossips says Latifah and her lover are on the verge of breaking up. Queen Latifah has allegedly been seeing another woman. The lady Queen Latifah has allegedly been seeing for the past few years is personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins. While Queen Latifah says she's merely a client, it's supposedly an open secret that they're involved.

The buzz is that things aren't good in the Madonna household. Lots of fighting going on. Madonna, Guy Ritchie and the kids are headed off on a vacation that could," make or break" the marriage. They're bringing all the kids: 10-year-old Lourdes, six-year-old Rocco and their newly-adopted African baby, David. They're going to a private resort in the Maldives, which are a chain of islands in the Indian Ocean, some 400 miles southwest of Sri Lanka. A source says, quote, "They even argued over where to go, so things aren't good."

MTV has announced their lineup for their biggest party of the year. "MTV Goes Gold: New Year's Eve 2007" will air live from their studios in Times Square. Featured this year are performances by Gwen Stefani, Nas, Pussycat Dolls, Ciara, AFI, Chamillionaire, Lady Sovereign, and Three 6 Mafia. Also appearing, but apparently not performing -- Timbaland, Fall Out Boy, Hayden Panitierre and... Perez Hilton.
