BSG: Season 3, Ep 11 - The Eye of Jupiter (Dec 15) post #1  quote:

While harvesting algae on the planet beyond the star cluster, the possible discovery of an ancient artifact known as "the Eye of Jupiter" leads to a deadly stand-off with the Cylons, who believe that the Eye is a marker left by the 13th tribe to point the way to Earth.

This looks interesting.

It had Brother Al saying they would give up Baltar and let the BSG crew go. I can't imagine how bad they would mess that fool up.

Who knows... but if they gave up Baltar, back to the human race... whooie... there's gonna be some bad stuff happening. Wonder what will happen. Or, will the two toasters he's currently involved with in a nightly twist, save him?

I might be mistaken but when the season first started they showed clips of upcoming episodes. I am pretty sure I saw a scene with Baltar sitting in a chair, tied or cuffed with his arms behind, and Roslin circling like a vulture. They had also showed that scene where Baltar asked if he was a Cylon and that went down a few weeks ago.

Either way I think we can expect Roslin and company to get some words with Dr. Baltar. He should still chill with the Cylons though. Ron Moore said they will check out the Cylon homeworld at some point. Hope it's not just the Cylon characters we see.

And is Lucy Lawless a main character now or what?

Nice episode. It left me wanting more. When does season four start up? I did notice a "location Problem". When there is a reverse shot of Tyrol walking up the pass and they show a reverse shot of the Colonial camp (where Tyrol walked from). I noticed two fast moving dots in the distant background. I thought that it was imposible because there is only one Raptor on the planet. I replayed it (via iTunes) and saw that the fast moving dots are cars on a highway. So much for not "locking up a location"!!! I'm wondering why they let that pass during the editing and get on the show?

This isn't the end of season three... they are just taking a break, like a lot of shows are doing. The rest of season three will be back in Jan 21st. They are switching nights, and time.

The show will now be on Sunday nights 10/9c.

post #7  quote:

As Colonial forces assist civilian teams gathering food on the algae planet, Starbuck and Apollo enjoy a liaison behind the backs of their spouses, Anders and Dualla. When Apollo suggests that they each get divorced, however, Starbuck refuses. She doesn't mind bending the rules of marriage, but she believes that divorce is sacrilegious. Because Apollo thinks that secretive cheating is equally wrong, they're at an impasse.

Tyrol, meanwhile, feels an inexplicable inspiration to leave the algae worksite and hike alone over the scrubby hills to a strange rock structure. Inside it, he discovers the lost, ancient Temple of Five, where the Eye of Jupiter — a mysterious object that points the way to Earth — is supposedly hidden.

Before the humans can find the Eye, however, four Cylon baseships arrive. Baltar and D'Anna, also inspired by potentially divine means, have guided their fleet here, and they want the Eye for themselves. After the rest of the human fleet Jumps to safety, the Galactica hosts D'Anna, Boomer, Cavil, and Baltar for negotiations. There, Boomer tells her counterpart, Athena, that Athena's daughter, Hera, is alive in the Cylon fleet — revealing that Roslin lied about her death. Adama shuts down the negotiations by declaring that if the Cylons make any aggressive moves, he'll launch nuclear strikes on the planet so that no one can have the Eye.

Secretly, however, D'Anna has already sneaked a Centurion raiding party onto the planet's surface, the moment her fleet arrived in the system. Speculating that just such an ambush is possible, Apollo mobilizes his people on the ground to defend the Temple — or destroy it, if they must. Even though he already guesses the truth about Apollo and Starbuck's affair, Anders grudgingly helps Apollo organize the civilians into a fighting force.

Then they receive an urgent message from Starbuck in her Raptor: she has spotted the raiding party of Centurions headed their way. Before she can say more, the Centurions shoot her down. Frantic to rescue her, Anders tries to leave the Temple, but Apollo can't spare the personnel and refuses to let him go.

Hemmed in by growing threats from all sides — and from above — the two men's furious standoff is only the prelude to a much bigger fight. Worse, aboard the Galactica, Gaeta discovers that the planet's sun is poised on the brink of a supernova. It could explode at any moment, with enough fury to vaporize humans, Cylons — and the entire solar system.

Cool episode. Damn cliffhanger. Now we wait a month. Sucks ape.

Starbuck is a ho. Strait up.

Baltar being back on BSG was cool. Man, you could see how people hate him.

Stupid Boomer ratted out Roslin's baby plan to Athena. I thought Adama knew? Guess not. Wonder if she's going to leave Galactica. Maybe Helo will go too...

I thought that Roslin, the doc, and Adama were all three in on knowing about the baby, and the decisions made. Either it's a lie, and he really does know, or he was left out of that decision, to make it so that less people actually knew.

Will Sharon "Athena" leave the BSG because of this? What will happen between her and Helo? Will he leave if she does... and vice versa. They wouldn't go to be with the cylons. But, won't they DEMAND their child returned to them? I would. (I think that this is the MAIN storyline that I'm most interested in)

Starbuck is pissing me off. "She doesn't mind bending the rules of marriage, but she believes that divorce is sacrilegious." WTF kind of crap is that? She will screw another guy, while being married (and that other guy is married too), but she won't divorce Sam? She doesn't really love him... it's Lee that Kara loves. So, it's sacrilegious, in her opinion, to get a divorce, but it's not sacrilegious to have sex with someone that's NOT your spouse? Go figure.

Baltar is sooooooooooooooooooooooo screwed... and I love it. I would be cool if he was placed in lock up, naked, and everyone could see him, and get within spitting distance of him, and make him hear people's comments to him, of how they feel about him, and what he's done to the human race. REVENGE without killing him. Obviously, they won't kill off Baltar. He is like THE main character to BSG.

Maybe the decision was made without Adama, he seemed pissed at Roslin.

D'Anna won't give up the baby. Maybe if it's gravely ill I suppose. That's jacked up though. Everything was going good with Athena but now she's going to believe what Boomer was saying.

Well, I just don't know. We will find out, I suppose... but Adama usually knows what's going on. I am trying to think back to that episode where Roslin gave that lady the baby. I remember the doc telling Helo and Sharon that Hera had died. And I remember Roslin giving the baby away. But I can't remember Adama... so, maybe he really didn't know.

I don't know what Sharon and Helo will decide... but HOW could you be happy about finding out that your child is alive and was given away, and that the cylons have her, and you can't get her back?! Sure, they are probably happy that Hera is alive... but, everything else probably pisses them off. I would be going off on Roslin and the doc. They should both be worried.

If D'anna won't give up the baby... what will Sharon and Helo do? They are going to want their child back.

Sharon will probably use her super Cylon skills and sneak out of BSG and head over to the Baseship that has her kid. But I doubt the Cylons would welcome her back.

And she can't just SNEAK onto the basestar. We know, from the confrontation between Sharon and D'Anna, in the "prison" on New Caprica, that they can tell which ones they are.
