I guess she finally got tired of showing off her bare crotch, so Britney Spears trotted into Le Bra Lingerie in West Hollywood and dropped more than $3000 on designer underwear. Among her purchases, Britney picked up a camisole and thong set for $1315... a bustier and thong for $510... a black corset and red thong for $300... and a yellow bra and thong for $333...What's up with all the thongs?? Britney -- who's a 36C, by the way -- was overheard telling her friend, "I could live here!" This is also the place Katie Holmes bought her honeymoon lingerie.

Even though the new "Laguna Beach" has had lower ratings and less drama than the original series, MTV is bringing it back with the same cast and a few new faces. The creator of the show says the transition periods and lower ratings were expected because the audience must have a whole new investment in this group. A new season of the show will begin production next month. Meantime, in a recent interview with the "LA Times" Cami told the reporter that she doesn't like being portrayed as a mean girl, and she's looking forward to the new season so she can clean things up. She says, "It just really, really, really sucks. Tessa seems like this goody two-shoes on TV, and I am just sitting there watching it, going, 'If you only knew...'" Kyndra, though, is completely okay with being the bad girl on the show. She told the reporter, "If everyone played the little nice girl, then no one's gonna watch the show. So I'd rather draw people into watching the show." She proceeded to be a total "B" with the reporter -- keeping in character, maybe? It got so bad that two PR execs with MTV called the reporter later to apologize.

How much influence does the Rev. Jesse Jackson have over the nation? Apparently...not much. Because of the Michael Richards' incident, Rev. Jackson asked us to boycott season seven of the "Seinfeld" DVD. Sales are up 75 percent over season six and 90 percent over season five.

First it was the silent Scientology birth. Then came the no-expense-spared Scientology wedding. Now Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have splashed out 6 million on a home in West Sussex - the county where the controversial religion has its UK base. The six-bedroom house, on a private estate, has an indoor swimming pool, underground garage, sports pavilion, games room and a state-of-the-art greenhouse. There is a high-tech security system and a cottage for staff. The newlyweds also have homes in Beverly Hills and Colorado. Scientology leader, David Miscavige, who was 44-year- old Cruise's best man at his wedding ceremony in Italy last week is thought to have inspired the purchase.

A seemingly still-intoxicated Danny DeVito showed up at "The View" yesterday admitting he hadn't slept after an all-night bender with buddy George Clooney. He then launched into a heavily bleeped Bush bashing. DeVito's publicist, Stan Rosenfeld, said the actor has apologized to Barbara Walters, "The View's" creator and co-host. "He has called Barbara Walters to apologize for anything that could be construed as unfortunate." The rep said he has no idea whether DeVito was drunk during his appearance but emphasized that the actor has never had a problem with drinking.
