An electromagnetic pulse fries everything with a circuit board at 9:02pm, plunging the town into darkness. Before the power goes out, the citizens of Jericho watch as minutemen missiles are launched into the sky. One by one, the townspeople receive phone messages alerting them that the government has been shut down and that everyone is under local or state jurisdiction. For the first time since the explosion, people realize they are on their own and must be responsible for maintaining law and order in their town. Meanwhile, Allison, Hawkins' daughter, starts to question her father's motive for moving to Jericho.

Dude... this episode was hot! We're starting to get some answers. Hawkins isn't a bad guy... I don't think. He was a spy, of some sort, for the government, and he knew something. I'm thinking that he was away, for 4 years, in another country... and he found out info, and knew that Jericho wouldn't be a town that would be hit, and that's why they are there.
I'm still dying to know about Jake. Why was his picture on Hawkins' screen, and what all did his daughter see when she looked at it? I like that he and his daughter, Allison, are talking, and he's teaching her things.
Got info about why (to some extent) that Jake left town. He was running with the bad boys... and now, it's going to get a bit more in to that, according to the previews for next week.
I'm glad that April listened to her mother-in-law, and that she went to try to spend time with Eric. I was really pissed off with him, and his flippant attitude. Saying that she wanted a divorce... yet, HE is the one that's been screwing another person. April loves her husband. So, I hope that they will start to repair their marriage... but, I don't think that the bar chick is gonna give up that easily.
The US Treasury lady, who's staying on the farm isn't too bad. But, she needs to learn to work.

I liked it a lot. Kept my interest the whole show.
I like how the town is going "western". Horses were cool.
The main hero walks funny, his head is always jerked to the side. I'm getting used to it.
I don't understand, why black dude aint in the pics if that is his real family...it's like they are his mock family, for show only. But they call him dad. I don't get it.

I think that they are in Jericho because he knew that it was a safe zone from the blast.

Was Jake Military? I wonder if he was a different type of op person than Hawkins.

That bar chick needs to salvage some freakin' pride already. I have a feeling that April will surpise us when she decides that she wants her husband. I LOVE the mother. SHe is cool

Oh she will work after she gets some wild freaky lovin' from the farmer.

Dave, he's been gone for four years... that's what his wife said. I think that he was gone, on a mission... or something. So, that's why there were no family portraits. So, he was putting himself in the photo, which was cool, in my opinion.

His daughter has the right "yeah don't tell me what to do cause you were gone" attitude. I think that because he was away for four years, then he must have been a spy in deep cover. I believe he came back because he knew this was coming, he deserted and took his family to hickville because it was the safest place to go.
Yes, he was on his way back to San Diego... but we don't know why. I'm assuming that he was reporting back to "duty" but anything is possible. What did he need the money for (that he was trying to get his father to give to him)?
:::>^..^<::: ~*~The Journey is more important than the end or the start~*~ :::>^..^<:::
San Diego, could very easily have been Military, or a government guy in position since we are so close to the border. The money is an odd one, but maybe he was using it as an excuse to go see his family.
Yeah, we have a lot of stuff in San Diego... and being on the border, it's possible that he's doing something. Anyway... I'm wondering just what his mother knows. She seems to know a lot more than anyone else, at this point. But, just HOW MUCH does she know about what Jake has been doing?

Shoot, I'd leave Sandy June and the dogs in H-Bomb central, then I would head for the hills and shack up with a good looking Blondie. If she gave me too much grief, I'd tell her I was irradiated, so she would leave, and I would find me a new woman.
But I ramble on.
I'm still unsure about Black Dude, as the first site he called up was all in Russian. Could be he was seeing what they were doing, or he could work for the enemy. I don't know yet. Very likable character, either way.
Yeah... no matter what, I actually find that I like Hawkins. And I too noticed that it was in Russian. Interesting to see that. It's possible that he was a spy over there. Who knows!? We will find out when the time is right.
