I saw a commercial for the new lexus that shows this car can parallel park itself.....
Uh does this scare anyone else? COMPUTERS ARE TOTALLY GONNA TAKE OVER THE WORLD SOON! no joke.
Seriously, how lazy are we getting that we can't even PARK A CAR ourselves now? I think that's lame. some cars even turn on with voice activation. who decided that the quick turn of the wrist was just too much work to turn on the ignition. pleeease....

Yeah, I guess that it's a sad day when we can't even park our own car... but, if you can't parallel park, maybe this will help people out, and cause less frustration on those waiting.

What in God's name are you talking about? I know how to parallel park - very well thank you! But only on the right side, i don't even ATTEMPT the left side. how weird is that. I still wouldn't let my car do it for me. that's selling out. and pretty soon it's gonna go nuts on me and start driving me into brick walls or something. I WILL NOT LET MY COMPUTER KILL ME, THANKS.

So, okay... the car parallel parks itself.... neat trick... I don't need it myself, but whatever. The population is getting fatter and lazier, and we need more and more computers to do stuff for us.
But what happens when it hits another car in the process of parking? Are you responsible? Or the idiot who programed the car's computer? Because it's not your fault your car doesn't know how to park itself.

I just saw a commercial for this car... Lexus. There is no way in hell that I would allow a car to park for me. First off, are we THAT lazy... second, I don't want to hit someone elses car.

Do you get out of the car, or do you just sit there as the car parks itself? I'd be crapping my pants if I was in the car and it was moving without me doing anything...

Well, in the commercial, the guy is sitting there, and has his hands off the wheel, and looks at the camera and says, "I used to park my own vehicle" or some crap like that. Then, you see the wheel start to turn itself, and then the shot is of the outside, watching the car park. He's still inside.

Ellen Degeneres had a stand up routine that talked about laziness like this...truly hilarious. This reminded me of some stuff she said.
I dont trust computers enough to let them drive my car. My computer hs to be restarted enough times to not want me to have a computer chip driving my vehicle. Imagine driving 60 mph and the computer drives you into an oncoming lane or something.
Thats scary.
When accidents then happens, who is at fault? The driver or the computer manufacturing company???? Imagine what kind of hell that would be in the insurance world?

When I was a valet I watched this 60-ish woman attempt to parralel park. She took a dozen or more attempts to no avail. Her husband and 2 other passengers then got out and gave her several (often conflicting) directions. All this was happening directly across the street from a theater with a crowd in front that was mostly laughing at her. After a total of 30 or so attempts, the laughter growing, the screaming of her husband getting louder, she snapped. She floored it and smashed into the car behind her, her husband and the other spectators in the street dove for cover. She throws it into drive and smashes the truck in front ...... bang ,smash, back and forth she goes, the crowd now totally silent, not believing what they are seeing. After getting the car into position, she calmly gets out, walks over to the guy who owns the other car and says ''Ill give you my insurance information at intermission, the shows about to start''

that sounds like an example of someone who simply shouldn't be driving. I imagine if she can't parallel park, there's so much more she can't do.
