Taven is a character in the fictional Mortal Kombat fighting game series.
About Taven
Taven will make his first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon as the game's hero. He will be featured as the main character in the game's Konquest mode and has been confirmed as a playable character. Prior to E3 2006, Ed Boon had not yet decided on a name for Taven, and he was referred to only as "Bob" or "Hero."
The Konquest Mode in Armageddon revolves around a contest between Taven and his brother Daegon, set by their father, the Protector God of Edenia. They are sent to Earthrealm and are kept in incubation by two dragons until Blaze calls for them to be awakened, and the contest to begin. The task is simply to find and defeat Blaze, using a weapon found in their father's temple on Earthrealm. The victor will succeed their father as protector of Edenia and will receive a prize fit for an Elder God.
In Armageddon's Konquest mode the player will play as Taven and venture across the realms in search of the elemental Blaze. Along the journey, the player will travel through the realms and come in contact with the many other characters that appear throughout the Mortal Kombat universe. At some point, Taven will be unlocked as a playable character in the other modes of play. Unlike Shujinko in the previous game's Konquest, Taven does not appear to train with other warriors, only fight them. He also appears to have his own weapon, special moves, and fatalities.
