I voted that I'm all for it. There are times when I'm at a bar, and drinking, and I will light up a clove. But, I can't stand it when I'm in a restaurant and someone is blowing that crap around. Or in line, and someone near you, in line, lights up.

Speaking as someone who comes from acountry where this is a law I voted all for it. It is one of the best things that has happend overe here. Bar workers etc have a better health record, rates of smoking releated illnesses are expected to drop, more people have expressed a willingness to or have quit.
We had the scare stories from Restaurants, pubs and clubs about going out of business but in some cases customer numbers are up only a small number 5% I think have reported a drop in trade. There has alaos been an unusal resault of this ban and that is dating has gone up amongst smokers, basically the theory is that you have two people outised a pub having a smoke and they hit it off.
Some parts of the ban are unworkable because our ban is enclosed public places so restaurants, bars, clubs stadiums, offices eetc are all easy but the ban covers taxis and workmans vans ( they are enclosed public places ) and that ban has been harder to enforce.
I really don't know, Smokers piss me off for the most part, because they are litterers. They throw them cigs all over the **** place!
But other than that, they like it, there are enough of them to warrant consideration, I say they should be aloud to smoke if they want to. It's a fracking* freedom issue.
They want to smoke, so be it.
I don't want the nastiness around me, so if they can't do it in confined spaces, that's cool, but if it's in open air, in public, I don't see the big deal. I just wish the ***holes that throw the cigs from their cars out the window would quit doing that.
I didn't vote any way but I wanted to say that *Some* of us smokers try to be courteous about it. I smoke and I carry a portable ashtray with me wherever I go so that I DON'T litter. I've never thrown a butt on the ground. Never! AND I have an ashtray in my car and I have also never once thrown a cig out the window. My best friend hates cigarette smoke and I don't smoke around her because she doesn't like it. And if she doesn't care that I smoke, I sit near a window or I just go outside. Again, I carry an ashtray with me. So yes it's a bad habit but at least I try to be courteous about it. not ALL smokers are a**holes about it.
Kids are everywhere, said I am against it. I try not to blow my smoke on kids faces. I am courteous.
It's like, I am at a Dodgers game. Before they had this taped off area near a beer line which was cool. Now you have to exit the stadium. Pretty soon we'll be inside our cars, windows rolled up, and driving down the 101 freeway. Lame.
Not being able to smoke in a bar sucks. Luckily my bar has a close patio, it rules.
I'm all for it. I have asthma and smoke bothers me. I have maybe 1 or 2 every ONNNCE in a while and I regret it each time when I start wheezing dangit. They're starting to crack down pretty hard where I'm at-and I like it. No smoking in city parks, no smoking at the beach, no smoking in stadiums. I think it's a good idea. The less kids see it, the less they'll do it. The less smoke we inhale, the healthier we all are. I hate going to a casino or something and seeing the "smoking section." I mean, WE'RE BREATHING THE SAME AIR!!! I can't stand when people are sitting next to me and their cigarette is right in my face and when i cough naturally, they look at me like I'M the jerk. And I hate how people can't wait the 2 minutes it takes to walk OUTSIDE my apartment complex to light up. And the smell when someone just finishes smoking and gets in my car... uggh, it lasts for days. it's icky. don't smoke in my face please.

Since when does smoke know the difference, in a huge building, between the smoking, and non-smoking, sections? It doesn't. So, that's a joke.
When my co-workers come back in from their smoke breaks, they stink, to high heavens. I know that there are occasions where I will have a clove, when at the bar... but, I really can't stand smelling smoke on others... so, I don't like it on me either.

I don't smoke much when I drink now either Mr.-Heck-the-ashtray. Atleast I don't constantly stink like smoke... AHEEMMM. When I die of an asthma attack thanks to your constant smoke, you're gonna feel a little bad... just a little.
And I agree Lawless. When I have my occasional cigarette at the bar, I hate the stench it leaves.
The worst thing is cigarette breath. I had a junior high teacher whose breath smelled like coffee and cigarettes, I wanted to poke my eyes out with my pencil when she spoke to me.
