Iran offers to bring France in to "carry out enrichment in Iran and thus they can closely monitor our nuclear programme," and Bush rejects the offer.
What is it with Bush and his refusal to talk to Iran about anything. Iran makes offer after offer and everytime Bush rejects the offers.

The problem is the enrichment of uranium in Iran, which Russia, China, US and others feel will eventually lead to weapons-grade uranium being produced. Both Russia and the US have offered to deliver enriched uranium to Iran for use in nuclear reactors; Russia has offered to allow Iran to enrich their uranium in Russia, but Iran continues to turn the offers down.
