Premiers Wednesday, September 20th on CBS @ 8 eastern, 7 central.
Things are quiet and peaceful in small-town Jericho, Kansas, but when a baffling explosion occurs in the distance, Jericho's residents are plunged into social, psychological and physical chaos. No one knows what to think, and fear of the unknown takes over the town, especially because its isolation cuts it off from outside help. When nearly everything they know seems gone, will the residents of JERICHO band together to face their unfamiliar and mysterious new world?
This show sounds great, and I particularly like Skeet Ulrich as a cast member. Not the most fantastic actor (he's fine, better than most), but he just has that "oh my god, everything's going to hell kind of look about him".
I'm gonna try and catch this show.
"I'm for it so we can put Nuclear power plants up there, and then beam the power back to earth on a laser beam." ~ Whidden
I'm hooked too... and I'm with Whidden in hoping that the episodes will be as good as the pilot. I like the characters, and the interactions between them. Jake and his family... especially the dynamics between him and his father (the town mayor). Jake's been the black sheep of the family, and his actions might just change that around, in his fathers eyes... or, they will still have their distance.
I thought that the whole prisoner bus scene was great. It will be something when they go out to the bus and find the sheriff, and others (I believe) dead. And what will happen.
The ending, with the school teacher on the side of the road, and hundreds of dead birds all over... wow.
I liked that the one guy (was his name Doug?) had the message on the answering machine from him mom, and that she was in Atlanta. So, the town found out that it was more than Denver. Wonder where else it will turn out to be.... if it will be all the major cities all over the US, or if they will keep us guessing. They could have people show up in town, with info, or something.

That's the part that I believe we're going to have to wait to find out. I bet that we will find out about other major cities being taken out, little by little. Hell, it could be the entire world... or just the US. I'm ready for next Wednesday already.

I don't know what to think. When he first appeared back in town, each person that he spoke with heard a different "story" as to where Jake had been for the past 5 years. And he's wanting the money left him, from his grandfather. When he was leaving the cemetery, with his mom, he said something about his father must never know what he wanted it for. I think that his mom knows more than meets the eye.
I think that he was a bad boy when he was in Jericho, five years ago... and left, for whatever reason. But, he's been doing something to change his life around.
I was wondering if he was trying to go through medical school when he was helping that little girl. But, he told the boy something about learning in the scouts? I can't remember, for sure, what he said.

Didn't he say he was 31? Guy looks about my age to me, which is old as dirt. All those crows feet and crags. Dude must be like 39 in real life.
I'm thinking those birds got whacked cause they were high up and got hit by some blast that didn't kill the ground people cause of the mountains.
But that don't explain the deer dying in the road. So I don't know whats up with that.
I'v been into Kansas along the interstate, and the mountains start after Denver, not before it. But maybe north or south of the highway, there are mountains like that in Kansas. I hope so, otherwise the geography should have been done better.
Who is the all knowing mysterious black dude? He must be someone from the Government....
I think that he said 32... but, it could have been 31. They have him fixed up to look real worn out, etc...
I don't think that the deer died on the road. Didn't it get hit by the bus? I can't remember that either. But, maybe radiation kills animals faster, since they have a much faster metabolism then humans.
Next week, from the previews, they are all running to get inside a shelter, because of the radiation.

Whidden said this in post #11 : Who is the all knowing mysterious black dude? He must be someone from the Government....
I don't know WHO he is... but he (Robert Hawkins) said that he was a retired cop, I think, from St Louis, MO. I don't know if he knows more than he's letting on... or what.

The thing that makes me think it was a full scale nuke war, and the whole country is gone, is that the promo for the website uses the teaser that "there are other survivors out there, find out about them".
If the whole country was out there, and just Atlanta and Denver were gone, then they wouldn't really be survivors.
