I dont care about a fictional movie being made about a president getting killed; a thriller of sorts...but a movie about a real president getting assassinated? Thats just getting a little sick and over the top, even for me.
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)
"You might be the toughest little whacker. . .but in my world, you're about as worrisome as a cloudy day." (Dutch Dooley)
That's my feelings. I've seen movies where a President has been assassinated, or they've attempted to assassinate... but, they are FICTIONAL characters.
How would you feel if you were Laura Bush, or one of his daughters?
I can't stand Bush, and can't wait until he is out of the White House... but, I would NEVER show such blatent disrespect for our President. No matter what my feelings are, personally.
I find it tasteless, and I won't support this film in any way.

I think they should have waited until Bush was out of office before they made or released a movie like this. This is only going to encourage such behavior and put the president's life in danger.

Don't think I would see it mainly because it sounds pretty poor. I don't however belive this is goi to result in copycat actions the majority of people can tell the diffence between a film and reality and if they are to thick to not see the diffrence they are probably a bigger threat to themselves or those living in close proximity as opposed to the President. Also the fact is that if somebody was to attempt to assanaite the president the idea was most probably in thier head long before this film was even thought up, plus the fact is that when the Presideent visits anywhere the first thing the secret service probably do is look at potnetial snipe spots and cover them and then you have that many people round the President you would struggle to get a clean shot off.
I have read various reviews of this movie, and not suprisingly, those who don't like Bush give this flick some pretty high scores. I doubt there are many people left in the world who haven't made up their minds about Bush, but I'm certain there are a handful of people out there who are and have been willing to consider doing something like this. All that being said, the timing of this movie is suspect. There's going to be a lot of debate going on because of the mid term elections, and the ever-controversal war in Iraq. Thousands of people will have rage boiling over, maybe only a tiny handful are psychotic crazies, but it only takes one crazy to take this movie too far.

There is a lot of raw hatred for Bush in the anti-Bush crowd. It is not hard to see what they are up to with this movie. I don't think that knowing the difference between a movie and reality is quite the issue here. Inspiration can come from either one. It will be interesting to see if this movie inspires the secret service.
I guess you can make movies about anything if you call it fiction. How about a fictional movie about Bush secretly knocking down the WTC with a controlled demolition so he could have a pretext for starting a war, so he and his friends could get rich on cheap oil?
Consider the source of this production and you will know all you need to know.

This movie is clearly a political fantasy that's keeping right in line with The Guardian and the BBC. If Bush couldn't be voted out of office, by golly, for a couple of hours at least we're gonna find ourselves in a world where he be dead! Jolly good, chip chip cheerio and all that sort of good fun…

I think there are possibly a few more important world events that have taken place over the last few years that are slightly more likely to inspire someone to take a pop at Bush, but if you think a movie's the thing that's going to push someone over the edge, then hey who am I to argue.
What it is up to is pandering to those who hate Bush. It's a movie intended to make them feel good. If it serves as an inspiration for someone to carry out its theme, so much the better. It's a movie that is kind of like sticking pins in a Voodoo doll.
