According to mugglenet.com JK is half way through writing the 7th book.
She revealed this at a tea party for rupert Grint, to celebrate his new film "driving lessons" coming out.
The story from the The Daily Mirror also said she was at 750 pages, being half way through that would make book 7 about 1500 pages when finished, which would be the longest so far.
But The Daily Mirror is a British tabloid not exactly known for its accurate reporting. Mugglenet agrees Jo probably said she's half-way through, like she's been saying since June, but they doubt she would reveal how many pages she's written.
On Friday we reported that the Daily Mirror spoke to JK Rowling at a tea party in Edinburgh, celebrating the release of Driving Lessons. Regarding the progress of Book 7, the UK tabloid quoted Jo as saying, "I'm up to about 750 pages now." At the time, we told you it was highly unlikely JK would give away how many pages she's written. Now we have confirmation in the form of an update to the the Rubbish Bin at JKR.com:
Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I haven't written 750 pages of book seven, and if I had, I'd be very worried, as I'm not close to finishing it yet.
I was at the tea party for Driving Lessons, though, so this isn't pure fiction. The journalist reports that I said that Rupert is 'absolutely terrific' in the film. He is, so that bit shouldn't be in the rubbish bin at all.

OotP was 766 pages (UK edition) ... that looks like the longest book ... I hear its not 7/7/07 ... its like a week later, then the film is a week after that
FP, like I said, I couldn't remember the total, since I wasn't home with my books. But, I'm wondering if the American version is longer. I will have to try to remember to check.
I just can't wait for the book, and then, the 5th movie. I'm going to be doing NOTHING that entire week.

Going to be bitter sweet. The 5th movie but last book. Still, this franchise never ceases to amaze me. I didn't think this same cast would knock out five movies. I remember saying after the second one they would do three, tops. Shows what I know
Yeah, I'm still feeling really happy, and impressed, that they've all stuck with their original roles. I just hope that they will do the same for the final two. Especially the main characters.

HECK! said this in post #7 : That's cool for the fans. It's like double a normal book. She should make this one the biggest if it will be the last, no?
-HECK!
She said a while ago that it wouldnt be longer that OotP ... the paper said it was 750 pages already ... but JK has said thats wrong, and that she still has a long way to go still.

Rupert said he'd stay as ron as long as they will let him
We have to keep Ron, Harry and Hagrid. I would be sad if Emma left, but I still have not forgiven her for her bad acting in the first movie. "No you're doing it WRONG"
They were all a bit shoddy with their acting in the first movie. To be honest, I forgive Hermione's actor more because Hermione is a bit of a drama queen
She'll have to get this to the publisher around February if it's gonna get out in time.
