Proof that Hizb'allah broke the cease fire back in 2000 post #1  quote:

Prime Minister Ehud Barak, at the weekly Cabinet meeting today (Sunday), 28.5.2000, gave a briefing on the situation in the north following the IDF's withdrawal from Lebanon and noted that the border has been quiet so far. He informed the Cabinet that the United Nations has begun demarcating the border and that Lebanese police have been sent to the most sensitive areas of southern Lebanon.

In light of the delicate and fragile conditions in the area, every day that passes quietly contributes to the chances of stabilizing the situation. Israel is ready for any possibility and the IDF has clear orders to open fire only in instances of self-defense or rescue. The IDF will not open fire under any other circumstances in order to increase the chances for quiet and stability.

Regarding the Shabaa Farms outpost on Har Dov, Prime Minister Barak stated that UN and Israeli maps show that 90% of the area is not part of Lebanon, and therefore will not be evacuated. The small area in which two minor outposts were located were evacuated; thus, the IDF has completely withdrawn to the international border in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 425.

Foreign Minister David Levy met today (May 28) with UN envoy, Terje Larsen, who expressed complete satisfaction with Israeli cooperation in fulfilling the conditions of Security Council Resolution 425.

At the meeting, Minister Levy stated the following:

Israel showed, and continues to show, restraint in the face of provocation. (for those that do not understand what this means - it means they were being threatened the entire time on the boarder by Hizb'allah)

It is not yet clear whether what we are witnessing now in Lebanon is a release of pent-up emotions indicative of future quiet or agitation indicating disquiet and a return to the cycle of violence.

At this stage, some degree of doubt exists concerning Lebanon's willingness to cooperate. There must be cooperation with the UN.

The armed militias are like a time bomb placed at the doorstep of the central Government of Lebanon.

Only a strong, determined country such as Israel could have decided upon, and carried out, the withdrawal from Lebanon. Israel displayed self-confidence, military fortitude and political good-judgement.

After a generation of hardship, the Government of Lebanon now has an opportunity to reestablish its sovereignty, restore quiet and rehabilitate the area -
"Lebanon has an obligation. It remains to be seen which path it will choose - one in which its own interests are served, or one in which it continues playing a role in the games of others. If Lebanon plays the games of others, it will be playing with fire, in its own house."

UNIFIL forces were sent to bolster the Lebanese Government so that the latter can assert its authority over the entire country. Lebanese cooperation with the UNIFIL will assist in the vitally important process of Lebanon's recovery, so there will be no remorse in the future.
At the meeting, UN envoy Larsen declared his intention to meet with the President and Prime Minister of Lebanon, and told of his planned meeting with the Foreign Minister of Syria in Damascus on Wednesday (May 31).

Following is the statement of Secretary-General Kofi Annan on receiving confirmation by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) of the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon:

I am delighted to tell you that the United Nations Force in Lebanon has today reported to me that Israel has withdrawn from the country, in full compliance with Security Council resolution 425 (1978). I have just conveyed this information to the Security Council.

The people of Lebanon have waited more than 22 years for this moment. We must all admire the fortitude with which they have borne this long ordeal.

This is a happy day for Lebanon, but also for Israel. It is a day of hope for the Middle East as a whole. And it is a day of pride for the United Nations. It shows that United Nations resolutions, when fully implemented by all parties working together, can be the building blocks of peace.

Letter dated 24 July 2000 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council

Further to my report on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) of 20 July 2000 (S/2000/718), I have the honour to inform you that the Israeli authorities have removed all soldiers of the line of withdrawal. Further, in a meeting with Mr. Terje Roed-Larsen, my Special Envoy, President Lahoud and Prime Minister Hoss today gave their consent to the full deployment of UNIFIL. President Lahoud confirmed this decision to me in a subsequent telephone conversation.

*****************

NOW comes the good stuff. Hizb'allah starts the war

The following is from UN.ORG the united nations home page.

Situation in the Area, July-October 2000

From the end of July until early October 2000, the situation in the UNIFIL area of operations was generally calm, except for numerous minor violations of the line of withdrawal, the so-called Blue Line.
In the context of the tension in the Occupied Territories and Israel, about 500 Palestinians and supporters approached the line south of Marwahin to demonstrate against Israel. As the crowd attempted to cross the Israeli border fence, Israeli troops opened fire, killing three and injuring some 20. Since then, the Lebanese authorities have prevented further demonstrations by Palestinians on the line.
Later the same day, in a serious breach of the ceasefire, Hizbollah launched an attack across the Blue Line about 3 kilometres south of Shaba and took three Israeli soldiers prisoner. On 20 October, three Palestinians crossed the Blue Line east of Kafr Shuba and tried to break through the Israeli technical fence, which runs some distance behind the line. The Israeli forces responded with heavy fire. One of the three was killed; the others managed to get away.

This was a mob and Israel had full authority to open fire, not because it was a breach of the UN resolution on part of the mob, but because of injury the a mob of 500 would cause to the soldiers. I would have fired at a mob of 500 people trying to break into the compound as well. This was not a peaceful protest, and the mob would have attacked upon making it through the line. They were warned and they ignored the warnings.
And after that HIZB'ALLAH broke the peace.

Here's another bit of information.

Lebanese administrators, police, security and army personnel function throughout the area, and their presence and activities continued to grow. They began re-establishing local administration in the villages and have made progress in re-integrating the communications, infrastructure, health and welfare systems with the rest of the country. In late August the former Israeli-controlled area participated, for the first time since 1972, in a parliamentary election.

However, near the Blue Line the authorities have, in effect, left control to Hizbollah. **(what a smart move)** Its members worked in civilian attire and were normally unarmed. They monitored the Blue Line, maintained public order and, in some villages, provided social, medical and education services.

UNIFIL monitored the area through ground and air patrols and a network of observation posts. It acted to correct violations by raising them with the side concerned, and used its best efforts, through continuous, close liaison with both sides, to prevent friction and limit incidents. However, UNIFIL has not been able to persuade the Lebanese authorities to assume their full responsibilities along the Blue Line.

post #4  quote:

The report went on to say that since the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri on 14 February, Lebanon had undergone a period of increased political instability, manifested by large-scale demonstrations in the capital, the resignation of the Government, several bomb attacks in various areas of Beirut, the assassinations of journalist Samir Kassir and politician George Hawi, and most recently, the attack on the envoy of Defence Minister Elias Murr

NOTE **Hariri was assassinated on 14 February 2005 when explosives equivalent to around 1000 kg of TNT were detonated as his motorcade drove past the St George Hotel in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The Syrian government is the focus of international suspicion of having committed the murder.***

**** Notes on who these people were
Samir Kassir (May 5, 1960 – June 2, 2005), was a university professor, journalist and historian born to a Lebanese Palestinian father and a Syrian mother. He held both Lebanese and French nationality. A prominent left-wing activist, he was a strong advocate of freedom for the Palestinians, democracy in Lebanon and Syria and a vocal critic of the Syrian presence in Lebanon. He was assassinated on 2 June 2005 and his assailants remain unknown. A French investigation is currently underway but its results have yet to be released.

George Hawi was assassinated when a bomb planted in his car was detonated by remote control, as he travelled through Beirut's Wata Musaitbi neighbourhood. The perpetrator has not been found, but many in Lebanon blame Syria for this and other explosions in the capital, after the Syrian retreat from Lebanon. It is known that Hawi who was a long time ally to Syria, turned against it and joined the Anti-Syrian coalition whose members were the prime targets of Syrians in the past years.

BEIRUT, -- A car bomb went off Tuesday in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, killing at least two people and injuring caretaker Defense Minister Elias Murr, witnesses and security officials said. ***

Describing the political and security environment as still fragile, the Secretary-General pointed particularly to the November 2005 Hizbollah attack, which had led to a heavy exchange of fire with IDF.

NOTE - Again Hizb'allah attacked first in this situation.

Israel was attacked from 2000-2004 and decided to take action. A ceasefire with bastards of Hizb'allah was made again - and 2 years later - here we are.

This information does not come froma biased media page wanting to bash Israel or wanting to bash Hizb'allah. it comes from united nations home page and from what the united nations people observed while stationed in lebanon.

I would just like to point out these two points which is WHAT started Israel to began sending drones and air surveillance in.
Which i would expect any country to do upon the invasions that hizb'allah began.
This is what started Israels breaches, was when Hizb'allah attacked and broke first. So don't go about trying to point fingers at Israel by posting bias links about breaking the ceasefire when Hizb'allah clearly broke first per the UN - the links some people provide are one sided. Stating only what Israel did and not what Hizb'allah did.

Link to full UN story background - had to find it again

http://www.un.org/Depts/dpko/missio...background.html

It details part of Israels occupation and South Lebanon Army trying to keep the peace in certain areas as well as what Israel has done that shouldn't and should and then what led up to 2000 crisis. It also details stability and non stability - it primarily refers to whatever happened in leb.
It also refers to what happened in the farm lands that H@ts posted in a different area.

New hostilities on the Israeli-Lebanese border started on 12 July 2006 when Hizbollah launched several rockets from Lebanese territory across the Blue Line towards IDF positions near the coast and in the area of the Israeli town of Zarit. In parallel, Hizbollah fighters crossed the Blue Line into Israel, attacked an Israeli patrol and captured two Israeli soldiers, killed three others and wounded two more. The captured soldiers were taken into Lebanon.

Subsequent to the attack on the patrol, a heavy exchange of fire ensued across the Blue Line between Hizbollah and the IDF. While the exchange of fire stretched over the entire length of the Line, it was heaviest in the areas west of Bint Jubayl and in the Shabaa farms area. Hizbollah targeted IDF positions and Israeli towns south of the Blue Line. Israel retaliated by ground, air and sea attacks. In addition to air strikes on Hizbollah positions, the IDF targeted numerous roads and bridges in southern Lebanon, within and outside the UNIFIL area of operations

One of the bias links H@ts produced just explained that a farm boy was killed - did not include hizb'allah/Israel battle from what i recall.

If the above link details something that backs up your argument then please post those details. I'm not trawling through thousands of words to try and figure out what you are tyring to say. And if it's quotes you're posting then put it in quotes so I can see it's not your interpretation of those quotes. I could post hundreds of links to websites but I'm interested in what people on this forum think.

the area that says ***NOTES was from me, its the largest part.
the rest of what i said was perhaps one to two lines in each post. mostly at the end of each.

everything i posted DETAILS and backs up my argument.
you can either accept it or not. go re-read it. If you do not believe me - go to that link and do a search *Alt+F *in internet explorer on the linked page and search for the text from my post.

I did a lot of digging for my informtion because i lost my favorites a while back and had to relocate it. Anyways what i posted proves, catalogs, and declares Hizb'allah as the starter in 2000.

what happened to cause resolution 111. hmmm Arabs are attacking, israel protects itself, Israel condemned. I always said wtf about this. There was a lot between Israel and syria that lead to this but this was about of a war between syria and Israel. Israel didn't just do it for just because.
Resolution 111: "...'condemns' Israel for raid on Syria that killed fifty-six people" 1967
***

The Syrian army used the Golan Heights, which tower 3,000 feet above the Galilee, to shell Israeli farms and villages. Syria’s attacks grew more frequent in 1965 and 1966, forcing children living on kibbutzim in the Huleh Valley to sleep in bomb shelters. Israel repeatedly protested the Syrian bombardments to the UN Mixed Armistice Commission, which was charged with policing the cease-fire, but the UN did nothing to stop Syria’s aggression — even a mild Security Council resolution expressing “regret” for such incidents was vetoed by the Soviet Union. Meanwhile, Israel was condemned by the United Nations when it retaliated.

Syria’s attacks on Israeli kibbutzim from the Golan Heights finally provoked a retaliatory strike on April 7, 1967. During the attack, Israeli planes shot down six Syrian fighter planes — MiGs supplied by the Soviet Union. Shortly thereafter, the Soviets — who had been providing military and economic assistance to both Syria and Egypt — gave Damascus false information alleging a massive Israeli military buildup in preparation for an attack. Despite Israeli denials, Syria decided to invoke its defense treaty with Egypt and asked Nasser to come to its aid

On May 15, Israel's Independence Day, Egyptian troops began moving into the Sinai and massing near the Israeli border. By May 18, Syrian troops were prepared for battle along the Golan Heights...

****It is me speaking in this tiny starred area. H@ts you can look the rest up.
The following is what caused Resolution 106. The arabs in this particular situation attacked FIRST. Which is normal.*****

****Events leading to Resolution 106***

In 1955, Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser began to import arms from the Soviet Bloc to build his arsenal for the confrontation with Israel. In the short-term, however, he employed a new tactic to prosecute Egypt's war with Israel. He announced it on August 31, 1955:

Egypt has decided to dispatch her heroes, the disciples of Pharaoh and the sons of Islam and they will cleanse the land of Palestine....There will be no peace on Israel's border because we demand vengeance, and vengeance is Israel's death.

These "heroes" were Arab terrorists, or fedayeen, trained and equipped by Egyptian Intelligence to engage in hostile action on the border and infiltrate Israel to commit acts of sabotage and murder. The fedayeen operated mainly from bases in Jordan, so that Jordan would bear the brunt of Israel's retaliation, which inevitably followed. The terrorist attacks violated the armistice agreement provision that prohibited the initiation of hostilities by paramilitary forces; nevertheless, it was Israel that was condemned by the UN Security Council for its counterattacks.

****Now, i'm not going to post things for every single Resolution. You can take your happy self and look it up on your own. This information is from my history book, encyclopedia, and online. you can find it.

All you did was POST the resolutions. you yourself told ME to post information to back my arguement in which i won. The arguement was - who started the current conflict between Hizb'allah and Israel.
And it was Hizb'alla in 2000 and it just finally erupted in 2006.
I am not going to post anymore arguements for you.
i have proven and proven my point, and the proof is in the bag.

If you want to continue this debate then you need to go find something that actually backs up what you are saying.

I have told you to research the history and you tried with this post - but you didn't say why they passed, what started it, and who was involved. You just wated to show some resolution against Israel.
Why did each of this pass? what lead up to it? why did israel attack syria? I have posted only a small bit of the past on why israel attacked. they defended themselves. After trying to get the UN to assist them and the UN refused.

Now, i can tell you that there is some Resolutions that happened towards Israel for bad things that Israel has done.

But the two that i just posted against, Israel was attacked first and the UN just decided to condemn them for defense. One didn't pass until some crazy jews assassinated someone. you can look up who yourself. The un basically passed it because they were pissed about it.

I know what you'll say - the same shitt you've been saying -
"dreamzwalker your just going to defend israel no matter what!"

contrary to what you want to believe about me, there are things that i do not agree with. But like i said - i know the history of the area and what caused these resolutions and the conflicts. 99.9% of it is due to Arab hatred. You cannot change that history no matter what you say, post, and attempt to show without historical background.

The brats, yes you, sat around and let a lot of the battles happen whil sitting there playing with yourselves and watching. After the battles you would try this or that.
this was while the brats where in control of israel. supposed to be anyhow. The moment you withdrew, nearly half a dozen arab countries attacked israel. and the arabs got their asses handed to them. Not once, but twice.

i'm done with this - i have shown you incorrect far more then I and still you refuse to believe what i have posted. Again, i suggest you go and read the history because i have 18 years of research on you.

One was for the 6 day war started by Arabs and one was the Suez War started by Egypt.

one last interesting bit of history for you, i have quoted it.

"On October 30, the United States sponsored a Security Council resolution calling for an immediate Israeli withdrawal, but England and France vetoed it. The following day, the two allies launched air operations, bombing Egyptian airfields near Suez."

yeah! go brats

Remember what is in ****info*** is me the rest is quoted .

What name calling?
You've called me a hypicrite more times then i've posted.
you've also called me a yanker.

All i did was just change brits to brats since you said yank is the name for all americans.
nothing wrong with that. And not name calling either.
You want to talk about name calling, why don't you go back to the beginning when you started labeling me with your
personal definition of dictionary terms.
