Bush says the troops would be in Iraq long after he leaves office. This is his response to a questio of when would there be zero American troops in Iraq.
Accordind to the "Personnel Strength" report for June 2005, 20 percent of 1,390,765 active troops are deployed to 168 foreign countries. Look for yourself [ www.dior.whs.mil/MMID/military/history/hst0605.pdf]. Korea? There are 32,744 soldiers said to be in Korea 54 years after the war. There are 69,395 still in Germany? , 12,258 stil in Italy, 35,307 in Japan. All three were WWII enemeies more than 60 years ago. There was claim a war in Iraq and they are said to be enemies. History is telling us hhow long we will be there.
Vietnam is not mention. What was environment in America during Vietnam. Maybe thats needed for Iraq.
