I wouldn't be surprised if the vilian is Venom. Though I would have thought they woulda have gone and done the Hobgoblin next, it seemed to be what they were sort of building towards in Spiderman 2. It doesn't seem like they'd switch actors for Harry Osbourne mid series, but you never know.
Love is a very powerful force, especially when its formed into a coherent beam of death.
No, I think that the Hobgoblin will make an appearance near the end of the movie, so that they can push for a S4 film, even though Tobey only signed on for a 3-picture deal.
I'd love to see Venom. THC would make a decent enough Eddie Brock, I think... But, will they somehow incorporate the fact that the Venom symbiote first melded with Spiderman, and was actually his black suit? I don't know if they can squeeze that into the movie, but as a fan, I'd like to see them try.
I wonder how many movies they'll end up doing for this series? Hmm, didn't know Tobey had only signed for 3 pictures.
Yeah, i think it would be cool if they showed Spidey in his black suit. I think they'd also have to explain where the black suit came from then, since that would explain the Venom symbiotes origins. Where did the black suit come from anyway?

I think so also, and Spiderman also became rather tempermental in the suit, so he eventually found out what was going on and disposed of the suit,, or something like that. Somehow the symbiote survived, found Brock, loved the intensity of Brock's emotions and hatred towards Spiderman, and they became quite "attached" (no pun initially intended, but I'll take it...)...
I believe it is going to be The Lizard. I think I heard that somewhere but I can't remember. I favorite villain from the Spiderman comics was Carnage though. I hoep to see him in one of these movies.
Here is a pic incase some peeps dont know who he is:
The Lizard was already kinda hinted at too. In S2, Peter's professor, who hooks him up with Doc Octavius for the interview, is the guy who eventually becomes The Lizard. He has no arm, and he works to try to re-grow it by combining his genes with lizard DNA, in an attempt to allow him to re-grow lost limbs. The research goes awry, and he becomes The Lizard. His arm grows back only when he's in Lizard form, but his mind disappears and he becomes a raging lunatic...
If THC takes the original Professor's place, then that, in my opinion, is a hole in the trilogy's plot, and that's unacceptable in this era of movie-making, in my opinion.
Still, even the Lizard would be a cool villian to explore in S3...
Spider Man gets the alien costume during Secret Wars and brings it back to Earth. It starts to take him over and Reed Richards helps zap it off him.
It's later found on the moon and is brought back. It tries to find someone who also hates Peter Parker and it hooks up with Eddie Brock to form Venom. Eventually the Venom costume spawned a 'child' called Carnage.
And Hobgoblin wasn't Harry Osbourne. Harry was just the second Green Goblin.
In Spider Man 2, they also set up the old school Spidey enemy Man-Wolf. J. Jonah Jameson's son, the astronaut (Mary Jane's brief fiance in the movie) gets some wacky condition on the moon that turns him into a werewolf.
Like SD said, they've established The Lizard a little bit. So between him, the second Green Goblin and Man-Wolf, they have a lot to go with.
Other than Venom, Spider Man never had any really kick-ass enemies. Electro, Sandman, Hydro, Rhyno, Mysterio... they all kind of sucked.
Personally, I hope they use Kraven The Hunter. He rules.
I'd like to see Spidey get all crazy-eyed and fallow the self-fulfilling prophecy of being a menace--for awhile. It would make for a cool and dramatic ending having to battle an evil that was literally part of himself for a short time.
Please pardon my pseudo-intellectuaphilisophicalismysiticality.
