The first season of this show has already come and gone in America, and is just finishing in Australia, but I just got around to watching the first season and thought it was an absolutely fantastic show. I can't say it was completely original - we've seen hundreds of break-out movies and read plenty of books ont he subject - but the idea of the innocent man being busted out by his brother who purposely commits a crime just so he can break out is nice... and the entire map of the prison being tattooed to the guys body? Absolutely inspiring.
The characters are likeable. The ones that aren't plain and simply aren't supposed to be. It in no way makes prison life look glamorous, nor does it put prisoners themselves in a positive light... But the main character, Michael, is someone who is so genuinely nice that you can't help but root for him the entire time, despite some of the underhanded stuff he does from time to time (especially towards the end of the first season).
You know, after the second part of the season was getting ready to start, I thought about watching it. But, I didn't want to come in half way through. I read an article on the show, and it sounded really cool.

Second season started yesterday. It was absolutely amazing... everything the first season was and more...
After finally escaping from the prison, all the prisoners are on the run, but Michael still has tattoos planning the rest of the escape, including how to get them civilian clothes. One important character we thought was dead ends up being alive and well, and another really important character ends up having their brains blown out.

In the previous 2 episodes, Michael and Lincoln have been trying to escape from the FBI agent chasing them and the ex-prison guard bounty hunters who are hot on their trail. We once again encounter Michael's wife, who gives them a hand, and Michael finds out the girl he loves, the doctor with the drug problem, ODed in the season 1 finale.
Also, one of the escaped convicts gets laid (the young dude who talks like 50 Cent, yo), and another gets filled with lead (I would figure he's dead, but they didn't show his body. 100 bullets passing through your chest, head and stomach usually kills you, though).

Yesterday's episode was fantastic. Michael, Lincoln, Tea-bag and that little homie idiot are all after the fortune buried in Utah; but the FBI guy's hot on their trail (despite having to make a pit-stop to get some drugs off his dealer). Tea-bag gets a map of the area they need to search and leads Lincoln and Michael to the homie idiot, who doesn't have it. By the time they get back to Tea-Bag, he'd memorized and eaten the map. Unfortunately, when they got to the spot they needed to search for the money, they find it's been developed into suburban housing.

So 2 weeks later and they're still digging for the money under the house. The way they figured it out was because the money was buried under a silo, they worked out the demolished silo's position by looking at the trees in the area (the shadows of the silo stunted their growth). They've found the money and are on the verge of getting out of there.
The FBI agent, Mahone, is hot on their trail though... and becoming more and more mysterious to viewers as he shoots one escapee in cold blood.
3 weeks until the next episode.

This show's back, and we've learnt more about Mahone's allegiance in this whole thing. Lincoln's managed to get to his son, even though the FBI were watching him. He paid a homeless guy to beat his son up, so they police would take him to the hospital. Michael and Sucre escaped with the money, only to find they didn't in fact have the money (Tea-bag does). Sucre then gets stuck underneath a log, and Michael needs to hatch a plan to get him unstuck.

I thought you had mentioned Prison Break before. I decided to check it out. It is very good. Very well done. I agree it is as good as 24. Although very different. I checked out the first disc last weekend and decided not to watch it anymore. It was too much for me. Too gritty, too real. If it didn't have the tea bag character I maybe could deal.
Anyway, I checked out the second disc this weekend . I am continuing to watch. I am happy to hear they escape. Getting away from that prison stuff might keep me watching.
Keep going with the updates. Good job.
It's great. A lot of people think the whole thing goes too far... like there are too many things standing in their way, holding them back... and too many coincidences. But it's just a show, and pretty exciting.
They say the whole story can go on for 5 seasons, if ratings let it. Not sure if they'll end up back in prison at some point through this all... but it's interesting to see how Michael's plan unfolds.
Season 2 (to me) is a fair bit better than the first. Awesome stuff.

I finished the first season. It was really good. Wow, very suspenseful there at the end. That was sad about Sara. Is she really dead? What character is alive and well in the second season? Is it the guy that was helping Veronica?
Oooh, that whole Veronica situation will be a bit shocking... you'll have to see how that all works out. It's one of the better parts of the series, I think. As is Sara's fate
Is there any way to see the beginning of the second season? They're half-way through it now, will it be replayed? Or will you have to wait for the DVDs?
I'll tell you, at first I was kind of mad at where they ended the first season, until I realized the second season is them on the run. Which kind of makes sense, they can't just get out of prison and disappear... like that's it. Stupid me...

He did not watch it. I got him the movie The Big Labowski. He is all into that right now. I think the only other thing he is watching is Lost. I watch stuff a lot after he goes to bed or when he is on the computer.
I just rented the first DVD of House. I have never watched it before. It is pretty good. Interesting. I think it probably gets better. Do you know what season they are on now? I will look for a thread.
