Despite how Monday's season finale left off, the sixth season of Fox's 24 will not pick up with Jack Bauer riding a slow boat to China as a political prisoner. "I don’t think much of the story will take place in China," executive producer Howard Gordon tells the trade mag TV Week. "It's just an impractical thing given the real-time constraints, because it would take Jack 16 hours — three-quarters of the [season] — to get back to L.A." If Jack's imprisonment isn't the hook for 24's January '07 return, what is? Howard shared no details, noting, "I just started writing the first [episode] this morning"

The prequel (always available on the previous season's DVDs) will probably involve Jack escaping the Chinese. Which should be cool, unlike season 5's prequel, the 15 minute Toyota advertisement.
Jack'll arrive back in America at the beginning of the season, I'd say.

Okay, it's been bugging me where Alexandar "Dr. Julian Bashir" Siddig from DS9 was from. I did a wiggy wiggy wicki search and found this:
"Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi (Arabic: صدّيق الطاهر الفاضل الصدّيق عبدالرحمن محمد أحمد عبدالكريم المهدي was born in Sudan, and spent most of his life in England. Born to an English mother and Sudanese father, Siddig describes himself as being a member of the Muslim faith.[1] He is the nephew of English actor Malcolm McDowell, and his paternal uncle is the former Sudanese Prime Minister Sadiq al Mahdi. He was initially credited under the shortened name Siddig El Fadil, until October 1995 (about halfway through his role in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) he changed his stage name to Alexander Siddig, as he thought it would be less confusing and easier to pronounce by American tongues. In 1997, Siddig married the series' co-star Nana Visitor; they had a son, Django El Tahir El Siddig, who was born in 1996. Siddig and Visitor eventually divorced, in 2001. In 2005 he became romantically involved with his Whose Life Is It Anyway? co-star, Kim Cattrall. "
Quite the name, eh? Guess he is really Muslim too. Good actor. Just hope he doesn't get type cast as Middle Eastern bad guys.
Didn't know he divorced Nana Visitor. Guess the Trek geek in me wanted those two crazy kids to work out.
HECK! said this in post #5 : "Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi (Arabic: الطاهر الفاضل الصدّيق عبدالرحمن محمد أحمد عبدالكريم المهدي )
That's some name he's got himself... I'd just call him Bob.

You got to wonder how long they can keep this show going for. The interesting thing is that in any one series they can only have one story line - though it deters slightly every few weeks, when a new threat is realized - unlike many other shows that have a new story every week... you'd think it'd get tired, but it doesn't (or at least it hasn't, yet); but I was really wondering just the other day... how much more of it will I put up with before I just stop watching? Another season or two, perhaps, depends how they choose to hook me next time around.
