Well, here we are, down to the final two. Tomorrow night, either Katharine McPhee, or Taylor Hicks, will be the season 5 American Idol. There was a coin toss, and since Taylor won that, he got to choose what "position" he wanted to be in tonight. Of course, he took the 'pimp spot' and goes last. Smart decision on his part.
Kat starts out the night singing, "Black Horse And a Cherry Tree." I was a little worried, because I don't think that it was that good of a performance last time. But, she definately did better, and I liked it. I loved the guys on the stage, doing a litle "drumming" and the way she was.
Taylor follows with, "Living For The City." Oh my goodness, please take that jacket off. It's blinding me!  Otherwise, I think that it was a really enjoyable performance.
Kat is back, and sitting on the stage, under the spotlight, and doing, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." She was absolutely AMAZING. I was completely blown away with her...
Taylor comes back out with, "Levon." It was just a 'meh' performance, in my opinion. His voice was bouncy.
Now, it's time for the final performances... and these are the songs that will be put out, for the winner, as their first single.
Kat has been given the song, "My Destiny." Ummmmmmmm, this song SUCKS! I hated it. And, the key, for her, was REALLY BAD! She was hitting notes that had me cringing.
Taylor finishes off the show tonight with, "Do I Make You Proud." Starting off, he sounds off key. Or, maybe his voice is just thrashed from singing/practicing all week. It's almost like her should be in a lower key, or something.
Okay... over all, I really think that Kat was better tonight.
I don't like either of their singles. WHY can't they get better songs? 
Last... I don't like all the "Soul Patrol" shout outs. Saying it once, is enough. It's overkill.
No matter who wins tomorrow night... and takes the title of American Idol... they are both winners, in my eyes.
I think that Simon would be VERY happy to have Taylor win, so that he can get Kat on his label.
Also, I do NOT like all the comments, about Taylor, from Randy and Paula, at the end, about how THEY put him through, etc... that was like a little "extra" push for him... where as I don' think that Kat got any "pimping."
Congrats to all the contestants of season 5.
