I just wanted to confirm that this movie is rated R. If you want to see chillingly disturbing creatures with knives for finger nails twitching and squeeling like a pig--if you want to see people's flesh boiling and burning--if you want to see someone litterally ripped to shreads--this movie is for you.
It fallows some of the scary concepts of the game very well, it even brings characters from the game into the movie. Oh man... next time the emergency alarm in my neighborhood goes off I'm immediately looking for a weapon.
Please pardon my pseudo-intellectuaphilisophicalismysiticality.
The ending was when the gore all came. The beginning of the movie was pretty tame. It was a tad weird, the first half is similar to the game in pace and style, as far as I could tell. The second half seemed just to be about witch burnings. The very end was pretty good, if not somewhat predictable. I didn't like the part of the movie where the little girl explained everything. To me that smacked of poor writing.
But that's just me. The movie was better than I expected, I must say.
