SINGER ASHANTI CANCELS CONCERT:
Ashanti Douglas a well known pop star canceled her first show in South Africa due to a death in her family. Quinshae Snead, a cousin of singer was killed by a drunken driver.
The promoters of the Diva’s concert apologized for Ashanti’s absence and stated, "The Douglas family has asked the South African public to please keep Ashanti, her family and all those involved in this horrible car accident in their prayers.”
The Douglas family has made no statements to date. Ashanti, recently has kept a low profile and was scheduled to perform for the first time in two months. Ms. Douglas was scheduled to perform her hits ‘Only U’, ‘Foolish’, ‘Rock With You’, ‘Breakup 2 Makeup’ among other songs.
Ashanti’s camp was reportedly working very hard for this gathering, but this tragic death gave them no choice, but to cancel. Ashanti’s promoters apologize to her fans, but hopes they understand her situation.

R&B star Ashanti unexpectedly had to pull out of the Redd’s Divas Concert in South Africa where she was scheduled to grace the stage with Lauryn Hill, Regina Belle, Sibongile Khumalo, Simphiwe, Lebo Mathosa, Bongo Maffin and Tyte Dana.
The international star was preparing for her for her performance in her dressing room at the Coca-Cola Dome in a bathrobe and drinking water when the tragic news was brought to her. Quinshae Snead, 20, a cousin to the famous singer passed away in a car crash on her way to a local hotel.
Ashanti among others around her were obviously devastated. Her camp had no choice but to cancel her appearance on the show. Packing her belongings and changing into capris and a small t-shirt, Ashanti and her crew left the Coca-Cola Dome in disbelieve and sorrow as they headed back to their Johannesburg hotel.
