Last Sunday's episode of the Simpsons was without a doube the Worst. Episode. Ever.
Seriously... an episode devoted to Grounds Keeper Willy? No thanks! And what was those songs? They were all horrible, not at all catchy or the least bit amusing... Sheesh
In a few weeks the episode written and featuring the guy from the Office will be on. Hope that turns the quality of this season around.
Yeah, it was pretty lame. I thought it was going to all be about Dodgeball, or Bombardment, whatever. Sucked. Isn't that the 20th time Willy's shack has been destroyed, and 10th time it was by Bart? What about when he filled it with cream corn? Where was the love then?
Yeah, I remember him filling it with cream corn. They hadn't destroyed Willy's shack in about 5 or 6 years or whatever, so I guess it was time to re-hash an old opening. They've done that a lot lately... started episodes with an exactly the same idea as a previous episode, but gone off in a different direction. It ticks me off. There should be plenty of directions to take the show, but nobody working there has any vision... I could pull most of the current episodes out of my ass if I wanted.
Though they had a funny jokes a few weeks back. Buggered if I remember what it was.
PS. Willy's a funny side character, but should never be brought too far into the plot in any way, shape or form.

Last Sunday's episode of the Simpsons was awesome. It had an original story model (at least one that hadn't been used in the simpsons before), and was scattered with some pretty amusing jokes/situations. If I had to rate it out of 10, I'd give it a 7 (whereas last week's episode would've been a 3).

Another quality episode this week. Not brilliant, worth a 6 out of 10 though.
This part's a classic: Rod: What does 'gay' mean? Bart: Uh, it means 'used to be afraid but isn't anymore.' Rod:<shouting> I'm gay, Daddy! I'm gay! Mrs. Simpson made me gay!

9/10 episode last Sunday. Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife. It was just pure genius, it really was.
That song? "Die, but not like die, but Di, the princess who died, but not like Di as in Die, but how she dyed her hair, but not dye as in how she dyed her hair, but like Die as in die.... don't die...." Oh my goodness that was a classic! I was in tears...
And the joke he told Marge? Oh man, that was great.
Okay, so a lot of the Office was shining through on the writing, but it doesn't bother me: the simpsons needs a new angle for its humour. That's what made it so funny seasons 4 to 8 or 9. It's creativity, its edge, its unpredictableness. This episode is just what the show needed, and I hope to God that the rest of the show's writers follow this example!

What joke? I saw most of the episode and I loved it. I haven't LOVED a simpsons episode in years.

The joke is old, so true. I've read a lot of people complaining about that... but it wasn't the joke itself - it was the delivery (as you mentioned) and the quick retraction afterwards. Pure. Classic.

My favorite Cleetus line was when Homer cut off his finger or thumb and got a ride from Cleetus to the hospital. Homer was doing that thing where you pretend your finger is cut off and you move it back and forth, but his finger really was cut off, to which Cleetus responds, "You must be one of those TV magic queers."
The last episode, Girls Just Wanna Have Sums, was pretty cool. In it, a feminist movement causes Springfield Elementary to be split between girl and boy classes. In the girl classes, Lisa gets sick of discussing how numbers and equal signs make her feel, that she pretends to be a boy to get a better education.
I think it was partly inspired by the new movie She's The Man, though I don't know how they could've gotten a Simpson episode regarding it so quickly (Simpsons episodes take like 6 months to a year to create).
Great episode, anyway. I'm glad Al Jean's back on the production staff.
