G-Music, caught up with Grammy award winning artist Ashanti, as she attended festivities for NBA All-Star weekend:
G-Music: So how’s it going over here?
Ashanti: It’s been good, doing a few charites and visting places around the city. It’s really a fun thing to do.
G-Music: Are you a basketball fan and if so what your favorite team?
Ashanti: Actually, I am a basketball fan. I’m from New York so I rep. [represent] the Knicks, even though there not doing too well right now (laughs).
G-Music: When you started out you were Ashanti the singer, but now you’ve reached out to many different areas of the world. What are some things you’ve been doing recently?
Ashanti: Yes, I’ve been very busy outside of music. I just released my vitamin, I have a perfume and jeans line already up and running. Also, I’ll be playing a role in the upcoming movie John Tucker Must Die.
G-Music: You’re a busy little lady, so does that leave you any time for your relationship with Nelly?
Ashanti: (Laughs) Me and Nelly are cool. We like to hang out and like having fun when our schedules allow us to. (Laughs)
G-Music: Just curious, are those your delicious curves jeans that you are wearing right now and your perfume?
Ashanti: Yes, I am wearing both right now. Since they’ve been released I’ve been wearing the jeans and perfume a lot. I have to show them off (laughs).
G-Music: Going to any parties or performing anywhere?
Ashanti: I may go to a party or two over the weekend we’ll see. And performing we may do a small gig of my Only U costume and routine.
