This thread is for Taylor Hicks fans to talk about him. I just love his voice. Some people on the AI board think he should dye his grey hair. I say no! He looks fine just the way he is.

I think that he will end up having it dyed... by the producers!! It will give him a younger look. Besides, Simon doesn't like it... he will get his way. He always seems too!
Anyway... the man has a very nice voice! I'm looking forward to more of him.

If he dyed his hair, it would not look as good. They showed a pic of him from high school before with the dark hair. He looks more plain/mousey that way. The grey works. If they dress him well, it could really work.
I like Taylor Hicks, he's one of my favorites, he can play the harmonica, and he's very likable. The gray hair looks good on him, I don't know how that will translate to votes, but Steve Martin's gray worked for him also. No matter what, he already has a record deal.
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

The guy who takes a chance, who walks the line between the known and unknown, who is unafraid of failure, will succeed.

I need to see him sing some real songs in the competition to make up my mind. I like his voice with the Ray Charles type stuff, but I don't know if he can pull it off with either pop music or classic rock.
That's why I'm saying that we need to see much more individual time on each contestant, because we aren't seeing/hearing enough.
And, once it gets down to the final 12, they have to sing a certain genre/era, etc... each week. So, we will totally get to see if they have the diversity to earn the "crown" of American Idol.

Yeah, he is awesome with the old timer type stuff, but can he do the soundtrack to "Grease" or stuff like that.
I'm thinking he can, if he will listen to the voice coach they give him, and not try to turn it into whatever you call his style.
That swooner last year, he did well with the votes, but I think they were pity votes after awhile, he kept messing up the genre and trying to turn pop music into 50's croonicrappo.
The red haired kid. He was a neat kid, I hope he got an album or something outta the deal.
This guy should be able to sing it all. These would be good choices for him.
80's music= In your eyes
60's =let it be
70's hell he could pick anything.
Motown= I heard it through the grapevine
Disco is a problem for anyone, so he will fare o.k. if they do that.
