Angels & Demons post #1  quote:

I am reading this finally, wanted to pick it up before I read The Da Vinci Code. So far so good. Please no spoilers yet, but what do you all think, those that have read it.

After reading the Da Vinci Code I gave up on Dan Brown, to be honest

I'd love to know if its any good, though...

Angels and Demons is the last book I read. I'm not much for reading novels, for some strange reason... I read this book within a week, which for me is extraordinary, because usually I don't even bother getting started. I remember burning through the first half of the book in like 2 days. So, if you wanna go with my opinion (although I don't read many novels, but I do a bit of creative writing... Go figure...), the book was great. I have absolutely nothing to compare it with due to my lack of interest in reading novels, but I hope that doesn't lessen my opinion...

It was a good book in my opinion. 'Nuff said.

I've heard from the peeps it was tight, have to find time to sit down and read it. I've been way busy lately, started the book over twice now. I will update you all on the opinion, not that anyone gives a Da Vinci crap about it...

I read A&D before the Dan Brown hype and loved it. plus, i hate murder mysteries so the fact that iloved it says a lot... it flew by which was cool.

It's pretty thick though, but the chapters are short. I can see myself taking this thing out in chunks.

The last book I've read is written in english and was bought in an airport in the US a couple weeks ago - "The broker" from John Grisham; I read it in a few days, good one.
I will try to get an exemplary of the one you are discussing about in this thread.

PLOT:

When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol -- seared into the chest of a murdered physicist -- he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati... the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth.

The Illuminati has surfaced from the shadows to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy... the Catholic Church.

Langdon's worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican's holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces he has hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.

Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair... a secret location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.

An explosive international thriller, ANGELS & DEMONS careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war...

OMG! The Illuminati is real?

OMG! And their most hated enemy is the Roman Catholic Church?

Whatever happened to that nutcase...what was her name, anyway....
oh, yeah, SWTT.
Bet she'd have alot to say about this book....wonder if she ever read it?

As I remember, she wasn't fans of either the Illuminati or the Vatican.
But I wonder who exactly she used to be hooked up with, way long in that skeleton in the closet past of hers....hmmmmmmm

And goodness! It's a "brotherhood?"
What exactly would SWTT be exactly?
In HP terms....possibly she was at one time a "Metamorphmagus?"

And who is that on nikiTa's avatar, anyway? Jarre....hmmmmmm.....and didn't he compose a CD called "Metamorphoses" once. And on Jarre's latest DVD isn't it the eyes of Anne Parillaud, the original La Femme Nikita being viewed as the only video source on his music/visual DVD???

OMG!! And didn't SWTT mention in the conspiracy forum once that the Illuminati held powers such as "Shapeshifting?" And isn't a shapeshifter the same as Metamorphmagus?

OMG! Get me outta this place!!!

This is my very last post!

One of the Illuminati priestesses told me once....if it's been said...there is at least a particle of truth to it.

Illuminati priestesses? You've talked to someone claiming to be apart of it?

And yeah, I am sure this secret society existed and probably still does. All legend is based on some piece of reality. I've read a lot about this group, Masons, Skull & Bones, trippy stuff.
