Lodge, you continue to defend powerful goverments when they do wrong: British police killing innocent man, Tookie Williams execution, Air Marshall kill inncent man in Miami, Singapore executing Australian for less than lb of drugs, United Nations massacre in Haiti....etc.

Do you keep up with news in Haiti? Your answer will not be a suprise.

Well I know that yet another peacekeeper was killed in Haiti today. I know that the president was overthrown in a coup that was popular at the time but the country has since gone tits up and people want him back. but those that actually carried out the coup are reluctant to give up power. However there are elections planned for the 7th of January I believe. The Canadian man was organising and overseeing the elections. I know the country is unstable hence the peacekeepers and the constant gun battles ( hard to keep Peace if some people don't want it).
I know that the UN and US and EU cut all aid to Haiti after election irregularities,.I know that the Dominican Republic is constantly having to deal with migrants and I know that it is one of the poorest countries in the world.
I also know that according to the French Arisitde can leave africa if he wants and go back to Haiti that wont happen because this whole crisis is his fault.
But you are right Malcolm I know nothing about Haiti and thier situation.

As for your other comments I do not always defend governments. I beleve if you actually bother to read my posts I said in the DeMenzies case thae actions of the security serv ices were in linw with the training. I have never defended or opposed or even posted anything about the Tookie Williams case so I don't see how you can say I was for or against it really.
Air Marshalls dealt with waht they saw as an immediate threat so thier actions were justified, and Singapore well the guy was ignorant enough to drug smuggle then he has to pay the price.

You see Malcolm I can see how you got to that opinion of me but let me tell you what I get from your posts.
You make a big deal out of a story when a black person is inviolved but say nowt when a white person is involved you could say you have selective moral outrage, for example the black man killed in Singapore was a terrible thing according to you strange how you have never stuck up for the many whites that died before this man or the many whites that are on death row in Singapore why is that?. This Haiti case is the same let me ask you Malcolm you want don't like massacre then why have you NEVER EVER started a post of one Mr Mugabe in Zimbabwe? You know that man that is letting his people literaly starve to deat the man who cannot tell us what happend to the 1 million people that have vanished? where is your maoral outrage there because I can guarntee it if it was a white man running that country you would have had the thread up in a second.

As for the UN massacre well I don't think that the UN sent trooops to massacre people, in fact come to mention your story was the first I had heard of it and it is very short as well. Could you post the link to this story or even inform of the webiste or newspaper you got it from as I would like to read more of it before I make a judgement.

What about the Hatian peacekeepers that were killed? You seem to have "gone tits up" over the Canadian peacekeeper but is having trouble with the innocent Hatians that were killed. What is your source about Haiti:

With the help of US President Aristide was removed by an coup d'etat.

The Bush Administration says President Aristide cannot return to Haiti or cannot promise protection if he returns

EU and US have not come through with 1.3 bill in aid funds pledged for reconstruction

Haitians say French robbed them in 1825 ( Royal Ordinance scam) and want repayment of $21.7 bill. President Aristide was ousted because he demanded repayment.

You are from United Kingdom, so I understand position to President Mugabe.

Any peacekeepers that are killed is wrong and detremental to the any future peace the country may have. However I should point out that the Canadian was NOT a peacekeeper he was an election organiser and was going to overview elections to make sure they were fair and proper which is what we all want .
My sources are from newspapers, TV, magazines etc. I have actually been to Haiti once a few years back on business did not stay long just shot in and out V. depressed place.

With the help of US President Aristide was removed by an coup d'etat.

There has never been any clear cut eveidence that the US was activly involved, we know they helped him flee but that seems to be the only thing that can be backed up.
The Bush Administration says President Aristide cannot return to Haiti or cannot promise protection if he returns

EU and US have not come through with 1.3 bill in aid funds pledged for reconstruction

The money was pledged on the back of fair and free elections, so until these people stop shooting up the men sent to help them the money is rightly being held back.

Haitians say French robbed them in 1825 ( Royal Ordinance scam) and want repayment of $21.7 bill. President Aristide was ousted because he demanded repayment.

Agian they cannot prove it and if they could they should go to the international court. Funny thing about the French though, it is thier special forces that protect him Africa and the French have like I said earlier offered to take him back to Haiti but he keeps refusing.

You are from United Kingdom, so I understand position to President Mugabe.

Please tell me you do not sympathise with that piece of scum?
