Being that Im half Jewish, I have to say that this thread is kind of strange. Not that Im saying its wrong, but its just strange.
Though I agree that there are many people that categorize people and put them in a bad place because of their religion or race, gender, sexual choice, etc...is this thread not kind of doing the same?
I like Jews...Jews are cool...?
Well, to be honest, either I like someone or I dont. I dont base my like or dislike on someone based on what or who they are.
And lets face it....someone is now reading this at this very moment and they are not thinking very highly of me...
So, based upon that....its really hard to say that ALL Jews are cool and great isnt it? Seriously...someone isnt liking me very much right now because Ive said this...
But thats my point really. Are we still not categorizing just in an opposite manner?
Dont get me wrong, Im not trying to bring this thread down...Im just trying to make a point about putting people in categories...and really isnt it just a point that we are all human and not all humans are great.

Don't know who David Berkowitz is, but I'm sure I'm not supposed to like him.
Well he was raised Jewish (and was half Jewish on his biological father's side). he was adopted by a Jewish family.
He murdered 6 people in a years time (1976-1977). He was called the Son of Sam murderer.

I guess I am like Mystic in that I do not give a damn what somebodys relgion is I decide on wether a peron is cool on the basis of who they are not what they are. I know a couple of Jews one is the nicest perosn you could hope to meet and I count myself lucky to call him a close friend of me and my family, but there is another guy who to be honest is a complete ******* something he did recently led me to blank him out every time he attempts to talk to us, but there are people like these guys in most major relgions.
There is a huge difference between love and like and loving and not liking what people do.
If I based my love for somone like my Jewish stepmother on the things she does or has done, things she says or has said to me....that's superficial and not love. And I would have to say that I would hate her...but I don't. Loving a person or a group of people goes beyond my personal sentiment into unconditional love.
If we all loved the people that were "nice" to us, or that we thought were "cool" it wouldn't be much of a test.
Like I said, my love for Jews is knee jerk, meaning it goes deep, and I cannot control it nor do I want to change it.

Just the nature of the beast. So, I knew if I did a thread, even of a positive nature, on the Jews, someone would get offended.
But, I'm to the point I don't care.
I'm just sick and tired of all the Anti Semite garbage I see all the time, so I did a post.
I guess I also knew that you would be disgusted by me saying something..thats why I added that someone would not be liking me for saying what I said. What I said wasnt meaning to be taken in a bad way. Thats the nature of being a tad bit too over sensitive, I guess, or someone taking something that someone says the wrong way (as is what you did by thinking that I was offended).
I wasnt offended...I thought I had made that clear. I just said it was a strange thread. I wasnt trying to take away that you had good intentions by doing it...its just wierd for me to hear that "Jews are cool."
Like I said, lets face it, people dont want to be defined by what they are...they just want to be defined for who they are as individuals.
So, with that said...did I take offense to this thread? No, I didnt. I just think...how strange to say Jews are cool, when I would venture to guess that you could walk into a room full of Jews, and walk out with and find that you dont think that all of them are "cool."

A little different with what you are saying.
What you are saying doesnt necessarily apply to only Jews. If I am understanding it correctly, you are stating that you have a general love for ALL humankind. I wouldnt think your deep feelings that you describe only applies to Jews.
Its like I said...humans are imperfect...and you can say that you unconditionally love everyone, but you dont. I mean those are words on a page....anyone can say words on a page. If you really loved people unconditionally, you wouldnt be unkind to people like you have been at times. This isnt just directed to you per day...all humans are kind and unkind to one another. We are all unperfect, and we all arent cool or great people. I dont love all people unconditionally. There are total jerks in this world, and regardless.....deep down, I STILL dont love them. I just go on with my life and ignore them.
Being Jewish doesnt automatically make one cool. Its just makes them Jewish...its one's personality and how they personally relate to another that makes them cool or not.
