Chelsea are rubbish post #1  quote:

I went to see Portsmouth vs. Chelsea at Fratton Park today and to say that I was disappointed with there performance would be understating it.

If they werent falling over then they were, somehow, injured amazingly just when Portsmouth picked up momentum. They constantly interrupted the flow of the game due to these tactics.

Not only that but I was sure that the referee should have been waring a Chelsea kit from the amount of decisions he gave their way.

And finally There was a Chelsea player who lashed out at on of our players after grabbing another in a headlock and wasn't cautioned or talked to by the ref, but our portsmouth player was.

Admittedly I expected to loose but from the way Chelsea have been built up I expected to be demolished by the best team in the country.

If I wanted to see a bunch of diving, fouling con-artists I would fly out to Italy and watch any of their teams. I mean at least I would get a nice holiday out of the deal.

If that display is the best you can get from over 200 million pounds then they have wasted their money.

I don't care what anyone says, Arsenal are the best pure footballing side in the country.

post #3  quote:

I have now read four wirte-ups of the match and see two anaylis of it (done by skysports and BBC)

Now I admit we, Portsmouth, were the second best team. I admitted that long before the game but the only things that separated the two teams on saturday was goalscoring and the ref.

With every analysis I have seen or read they claim that Chelsea were playing us off the pitch, that they couldn't do anything wrong and, recently the thing that has annoyed me, Pompey are a dirty team.

I'll tell you the stats for fouls at the end of the game, Chelsea 7 and Portsmouth 23. They were not 23 fouls from Portsmouth in that game!

We didn't go out to muscle them out of the game like everton! We tried to play football but the ref, more obviously in the second half, favored Chelsea more than us!

There was, for example, a freekick giving in the first half which was a great tackle but the Chelsea player, I think it was Crespo, fell over and the ref automatically gave the freekick.

But the thing that most annoys me is that the Chelsea player who lashed out at one of ours after have another in a headlock has been ignored. It happened, I was in the northern section of the intercash stand, I saw it clearly, everyone in the north stand saw it clearly, everyone in the north section of the Fratton end saw it clearly and even the lines man on that side of the pitch saw it clearly but didn't say anything to the ref when he went over to deal with the two players.

And then the ref gave Chelsea the freekick!

Chelsea conned the ref into giving them freekicks every chance they got, they fouled some of out players at lest twice but the officials ignored it and they kept being miraculously injured whenever we got any momentum. But is any of this commented on?

No!

Every anaylis of the game blatantly ignores every bad or poor aspect of Chelsea performance and builds them up to be some unstoppable force but on the display on Saturday any team could beat them if they dont resort to cheating and conning the ref.

If last weekends matches were supposed to be a memorial to George Best then I cant help but think that Chelsea have spoiled it with that display. Georgie Best would have hated that game.

I'm not saying that, on their day, they aren't the great side but all I'm am asking for is a little...no a lot less favoritism from the media. Give some credit where credit is due for once and dont always say good things about the big team when their performances are rubbish.

But, most importantly, GET THE BLOODY FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU PRINT THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That match was actually aired in the states. Being a former official, I agree, the Chelsea player involved in the elbowing incident( I forget who it was now) shouldve gotten a straight red. I have to wonder how much that wouldve affected the match

If the player had been sent off then it probably would have given the Portsmouth players the incentive to attack more than defend.

I believe the player was either Carlton Cole or Micheal Essien.

It was one of the worst matches I have ever seen simply because of the chelsea players and the ref disrupting the flow of the game at every opportunity.

The ref was Phil Dowed or something like that and he didn't let his game this weekend flow either.

Just to prove that this blatant favoritism of the media isn't only for chelsea:

Man Utd were said to be dominating Portsmouth over this last weekend but they weren't. They deserved to win but if we, portsmouth, could just find the right strike-force then Man Utd would have won 3-2 rather than 3-0.

It was another poor game and there were at least two moment where Pompey could have scored.

Also, what was up with the Utd fans? They were winning 1-0 and all you could hear were the Portsmouth supporters. Do they have no pride in their team until someone scores?
