Why the 6th vesion of hte matrix has to be the revolution. post #1  quote:

You see every other version of the matrix had the "one"make the same choice. But in the current version....Neo had awoken when agent smith shot himbecuase he was the one...and his love for trinity adds onto that. You see there has to be a one for every system version to pick people to start over..without the one.....it would invetitably collapse...See this time around...when the oracle prophized the one ending everything....i think she knew this time around it would be different. Think about it..in the past....agent smith Never killed the one....or had gotten sick of staying in the system to where he wanted to get out....if it wasn't true....then almost in ever system version this all would have happend...which it couldn't have..becuase the previous "ones" always took the other door...and Smith was still apart of the system.

The Architect says:

Architect: The Matrix is older than you know. I prefer counting from the emergence of one integral anomaly to the emergence of the next, in which case this is the 6th version.

first Matrix was heaven, a perfect world. IT crashed.

second was hell, based on pain and suffering. It crashed.

The third was designed with the help of the Oracle, where humans had choice. But because of choice, the one would emerge. It began to fail and the one reloaded it, when he returned to the source.

4th ditto

5th ditto

6th ditto

7th ditto

8th Neo arrives on the scene and does not reload the source code. He breaks the cycle and makes peace between human and machine.

He does reload the code in his death though, so the Matrix is reloaded and the 9th Matrix begins.
