Hotel heiress Paris Hilton is having a hard time getting over the recent break-in at her Hollywood home -- because a lot of the jewelry stolen in the raid belonged to her late grandmother.
Hilton was horrified when she learned the home she shares with her sister Nicky had been broken into on Wednesday by thieves who took a selection of valuable jewels.
But the blonde beauty is deeply upset by the absence of her more sentimental items.
She says, "My grandmother passed away a few months ago and left my sister and me all this jewelry, and now it's gone."
Hilton says the thieves, who she suspects were not strangers, left behind an array of valuable electronic equipment, but walked away with personal photographs.
The sisters are hoping to move into a more secure home next month.

Those Hilton sisters just can't avoid trouble these days. The Hollywood Hills home of hotel heiresses Paris and Nicky reportedly was ransacked for personal items last week, says People.
Among those stolen were a laptop, photographs, money and jewelry left to the girls by their late grandmother. Younger sister Nicky says the burglar bypassed expensive valuables such as iPods and flat-screen TVs, and adds that the sisters look forward to moving to a more secure locale soon.

What's the bet these "personal" photographs will be leaked onto the internet days before she releases her new album/ single!? You can count on it.
Paris was the last celebrity to arrive on the silver carpet at the Motorola party on Thursday night. We just thought she was making a very fashionably late appearance.
Well, it has now come to light that Paris was tardy because she was detained by the L.A.P.D. at her (West) Hollywood Hills mansion.
"All I know is she was summoned to be a witness on a case," Paris' publicist, Jack Ketsoyan of PMK, said Friday.
According to an L.A.P.D. rep, Hilton "is a witness in a criminal investigation." Specifically, the police subpoena regards a burglary that took place last summer at a Hollywood Hills home rented by Hilton and sis Nicky.
Police say Paris is a material witness to the crime and want to know any information she has regarding Darnell Riley, an alleged burglar who targeted L.A.'s well-to-do, including Girls Gone Wild guru Joe Francis.
Things are going to get very nasty once this case goes to trial, though. A source tells PerezHilton.com, "Paris knew the burglar, Darnell Riley. They were acquaintances. Darnell stole some very damaging video from Paris' home, which she allegedly does not want released to the public. And, since the burglary happened, she's been paying him off to keep quiet."
In other words, Paris is being blackmailed. Now that's not hot.
