So far this season, through 6 games Vick has a QB rating of 63.0 (NFL average is 82.8), 52.4 completion percentage, 723 passing yards (NFL average is 744), 5 passing touchdowns (NFL average is 4), 6 interceptioms, 12 sacks, 6 fumbles. Why do people jump on his bandwagon, because he has 302 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. He is average, at best.
If/when he loses a step Vick will be humbled, quickly.
Vick is still young and talented. Combine his natural athletiiic abilty with a complete concept of what the defese is all about and youhave a loosey goosey running back who will destroy your defense at any given time. Need first down? He can get it Give him a little protection and its all over.
All sportcasters including Madding really thinka lot of Vick. He is Superbowl material and if you took the time to watch him in motion one can tell the reasons,
The Falcons are buil.ding a formidable team keep your eyes on Vick and Company This guy is going to the Superbowl pretty soon.
We have another Louisiana pair of Quarter backs our Owner let go thru our fingers Peyton Manning and brother Eli of the Great Archie Manning DNA
Saints owner could not afford them, My question is always how can he afford to continue in a mediochre display of ignorance and let Athletes like this get away. Must be the fan idolitry of New Orleanians. Even went with bags over thier faces in embarrassment but they are always there.
This year though they is change in the air. The cmmmericials for Season Tickets say "Have Faith"
Bad enough we had Jake Del Lome who backed up Injury stricken Brooks for several years and when he became a free agent was gollbled up. You know the rest of the story, He shouldhave been #1 QB for the Saints. Moves or lack of moves like this are the crux of the Saint's problems
Theyhave no decent line to protect Brooks, so he is wide open like a rabbit waiting for a sack and it happenns.
Will not start on the coshing staff right just yet,
His field vision is off most of the time as people are in blitz defense in his face so he either throws off to whomever, gets intercepted or poor Joe Horn gets half killed trying to catcha ball displaced by four to five feet,
Brooks singles his choice of receivers and its not thard to cover them Main one ones Joe Horn ,who by the way is a former beer delievery man , a walk on in Saints camp. Natural born miracle for the Saints. As good or better then Randy Moss.
Then there s Dante Stalworth who had so much trouble catching and holding on to the ball or fumbling it over to the pther team he had to have a special coach work with him, "Hey Dante you are supposed t have glue on your hands, keep the damn ball under your arm not out in theopen) He is young and improving weekly
I keep up with several teams by at least tracking the games as this household is not like me.
TV today means I can watch Football till I feel comfrotable discussing the weeks games with you Heck and anysothers

Life may not be the party I had hoped for.......
But while I'm here I might just as well listen to the music and dance..
There is no doubt that Vick is talented, I would be a fool not to see that. He is a very unique quarterback.
Quite simply, he is not a good passer, especially in the pocket. I am not certain of the exact stat, but no quarterback has ever won the Super Bowl who had huge rushing yards during the season.
The Falcons need to put able wide outs with Vick, but we're talking about fast as hell kids that can just run to the ball, rather than Vick throwing it to them. Vick's M.O. this season has been getting flushed out of the pocket after only a few seconds, slink around in the back field, find TE Alge Crumpler or take it himself.
On Monday Night Football last week versus the NY Jets, they showed a graphic that about 75% of Vick's passes go to his left. He throws very little up the middle, and has more picks than receptions to his right. His secret is out. Only time will tell.
He is an untangible threat because of his ability to run. A defense will stop him and then the rest of the league will fall into form.
The only way Vick will hoist the Lombardi Trophy is if he becomes more of a pure passer. I'm not saying he has to become Dan Marino, but he has to improve. Potential will only get you so far. And I can't hang my hat on what-if's.
Glad you get to watch football this weekend, Delta. Look forward to talking Monday.
Too bad though... He IS still young and can develop his passing ability and confidence. If that were to happen, he'd be an absolute monster if his quickness remained intact too.
Vick's one of those guys who get props on his 'potential'. If he works hard and develops the weak aspects of his game, that's when he'll 'realize' that potential.
But, as a Rams fan, I saw how teams figured out the Greatest Show On Turf. There isn't a player or scheme that some coaching staff will figure out. Just a matter of time.
And let's not forget that sub-par QB's get to the big dance thanks to a gracious O-line. Your Mark Rypien's, Trent Dilfer's are perfect examples. Vick doesn't necessarily need that since he is in the pocket all of two seconds.
Vick has to move quickly as the teams blitz and double blitz him.
What else is ihe to do but scamper like a deer?
NO its the O line he has that are not giving him time in the pocket, pure and simple
Singling his passes? Watch Bret Favre he does the same thing
so does Brady.... The difference is the defenders. Double teaming the
A one favorite reciever and leaving open the secondary one.
With Vick he has no big second choice so he throws ,gets out quick and says a hail Mary his pass gets to where he wants.
Staying in the pocket with 300 lb defensive tackles on your ass will make one antsy I would think.
Am sure Madding does not give away compliments on" Potential"
He makes no bones about Randy Moss being his favorite receiver. I like him too but miss seeing him in A Vicking uniform.
Oakland Raiders? Doesn't fit in my brain yet. But guess he is better off after the "scandel" withthe Vikings and "hookers" on the Yacht.
Like thats anything new.

Heck if you get a chance check the stats Ihave to go to church I think.

Everyone was waiting for Ricky Williams to finally have a breakthrough game for the Dolphins since his Oct. 16 return. He did just that on Sunday.
Williams rushed for 17 yards on 82 carries, while QB Gus Frerotte was solid with 168 yards and a TD pass, and rookie Ronnie Brown finished with 106 yards on 23 attempts in Miami's 21-6 win over the woeful Saints
Pitiful but I knewit was gonna be slaughter time at the Stockyard today.
Now we willhearof Coach Haslett being let go Ihave more to discuss straight from New Orleans tomorrow
This time change has me all screwed up

Against the Dolphins last week, Vick was 11 for 20, 214 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT's, 3 sacks, and 1 lost fumble for a QB rating of 69.6. He had 5 rushes for 63 yards.
He was averaging over 10 yards per pass, but turnovers will kill you in the end. Poor ball control, poor decision making against a lackluster Miami team.
I don't think it's a matter of having a better O-Line, he won't hang in the pocket long enough to let them do their job. He doesn't run because of them, he runs in spite of them.
