Genealogy scares post #1  quote:

I have traced my family history and was shocked at what I found.

Elfriede Raubal, married my great-grandfather and together they had my grandmother in 1932.

My grandmother, whose name is Ainsley, gave birth to my mother, Paula in 1952 and then gave birth to me in 1977.

So, when I discovered who the Raubals were I was shocked out of my mind. Elfriede is the daughter of Angela Raubal and Leo Raubal. They had two other children (Geli Raubal, Leo Rudolf)

Angela is the daughter of Alois Hitler (Father of Adolf Hitler). If I count my genealogy correctly. Alois Hitler is my great-great-great grandfather. Elfriede is Adolf's niece.

Who are you guys related to that was famous in history?

No I am not related to the Hitlers, I am related to the Raubals. I find it somewhat embarrassing that he's in my family tree. I don't look at all like Adolf, but my grandmother had the round shaped face like him.

The only relationship I have with Adolf is that his half-sister married Leo.

My mother's family claims to be descended from a Zulu prince who was taken as a slave and became loyal to his master, remaining with him even after he received his freedom, and moving from Virginia to Jamaica with his master, I think sometime in the late 18th century. I have no verification of that, however, and I doubt that I'll ever get it, because from what I've been told, Jamaica's records of genealogy were destroyed through fire years ago...

On my father's side, I keep hearing how we're related to a reggae singer who goes by the name of Buju Banton... I doubt that's true, but there you are...

Hazel, sounds like Adolf is your great-great grand uncle? He might only be a half-blood relation (Alois had a relationship with Adolf's mother, who is not the mother of Angela?), but he's connected on Alois' side, which means he's related to you, if this Alois is indeed the same Alois who is the father of Adolf.

In anycase, while the connection might be there and it may be valid, there's no reason to be depressed or upset. There's nothing we can do in regards to what families we are born into, be it a positive thing or a negative. My father's father married his first cousin, and while I think that's horrendous, I wouldn't be here if they didn't have the kind of relationship that I find so revolting... Catch 22...

Not quite the same, I know, but just trying to illustrate how we can neither be held responsible, nor should we take on the burdens, of our ancestors who went long before us.

In my family tree, I feel like I'm split in two. I'm German on my mother's side, but I'm Scottish on my father's. Its strange.
I'm constructing my family tree now. I have three nephews and one niece.

If I constructed it now, It would look something like this:

Mother's side:
Great-Great-Great Grandmother : Franziska Matzelsberger
Great-Great Great Grandfather : Alois Schicklgruber (Hitler)
Great Great uncle : Alois Matzelberger (Hitler)
Great Great Grandmother : Angela Hitler
Great Great half uncle : Adolf Hitler
Great Great half aunt : Paula Hitler
Great uncle : Leo Rudolf Raubal
Great aunt : Geli Raubal (She shot herself)
Great Grandmother : Elfriede Raubal Bathurst
Grandmother : Ainsley Bathurst
Granduncle : Chisholm Bathurst
Mother : Paula Bathurst McAllister
Father: Cory McAllister
Daughter(s) : Sally (b. 1973) Melissa (1975), Eleanor (b.1977) (This is me)
Son(s) : Everett (b.1980)

On my mothers side, the name was Kennedy, but it got changed over to Canada later,

because of anti Irish crappo stuff going on.

ANYHOW, we always thought we was kin to the whitehouse Kennedy's in some far off way.

But we can't prove it.

So I should just shutup now.

Besides Adam and Eve....and Noah....

I really have little clue at all being adopted.
I have tried and tried to find out more...and am stopped hard at every track and so are the others invested in researching this. It's strange.

But from the very Irish name of Nora B. Freeman (I stole a document from my adopted mother for this info) from Missouri (or I have been "told")....

I can safely say I am related to The Edge, guitarist of U2.
The physical resemblance is uncanny, we both are talented guitarists (although the Edge is the best guitarist in the entire world and I pale in his compariston), he wears a John Elway jersey during his concerts, and most importantly, we both take sexual pleasure in the collection of data (as Bono says of the Edge).
Really the only difference is that I have hair on my head.

Please PM me if you are Nora B. Freeman or know of her whereabouts. According to fable, she would be 60 years old.

This is one little detail they must have overlooked in their investigation of me.

Since some of the "guidelines" (I asked for the "rules" and they gave me "guidelines", go figure ) are that we can have snacks and drinks, drinks must have caps, we cannot eat lunch at our desk, however.
Also, all drinks must not remain on our desks after our "shift." All papers must be put away at the end of our "shift." When we leave our desks to go poddy, break, lunch...we must turn our paperwork over so that only the blank side shows.
These are the best:
We must treat the other xxxxx's with respect and dignity at all times.
We cannot read our co-workers email.
We must respect the other xxxxx's space.

When my manager walked by and saw me cleaning my "space" with the environmentally friendly cleaning solution they provide...she just gave a big smile. So, perhaps, she does know my house is a mess, but is happy to know she is influencing me in a good way.

She also told me: "In your last job, you had to be combative, you had to say "no." Here, we say "yes" and let the chips fall where they may and let the others sort it all out.

This is the perfect job.

And I can eat lentils and rice for days!!!!
Lentils, my favorite food group. Perhaps I am one of those Irish Jews? Ya think???
