Walt Little boy who may be some kind of powerful mental telepath. Kidnapped by the others at end of season one.
Sun Good looking Korean woman, married to Jin.
ShannonDeceased Girlfriend of Sayid, sister of Boone, well step sister, they still kissed and stuff.
Kind of a crybaby brat the whole show, wound up getting shot by Ana Lucia, after she ignored a warning from an apparition of Walt to shut up and be quiet.
Sayid Iraqi Republican Guard. Island tough guy.
Sawyer Conman, grifter. Eye candy for the ladies.
Micheal Whacked out weirdo who is the Judas character, as he betrays the survivors and shoots some of them to "save" his son. Father of Walt.
Locke Ultra cool, kick ass knife dude, who was wheelchair bound on the plane, but the Island healed him. The man of faith vs. Jack, the man of science. Hog hunter, hatch finder, button pusher, Locke performs feets of mental and physical strenght on a regualr basis.
Jin Korean, doesn't speak English. Married to Sun.
Kate Fugitive from the law. Love interest of Jack and Sawyer. Kind of mentally unstable at times, freaks out and does wierd stuff.
Jack
The defacto leader of the survivors, also a doctor. His leadership is questioned by some, and there are conflicts. Has a lot of backstory, as he is a main character.
Hurley
Won the lottery, super rich. But he won it with cursed numbers, the same numbers on the hatch. Was in a mental hospital for some time. Generally liked, as he is affable and comedy relief.
Though he is a food thief. Hides it from everyone else.
Claire
Pregnant first season, finally gave birth to her "Buy Bee". Was heading to California to give the baby up for adoption. But crash landed instead. Was Charlies girl for a little, then dumped him.
Charlie
Heroin addict, general trouble maker. Was a good guy at first, but strayed off the path and became twisted. Hit Sun in the head and drug her off to "frame" the others, and help Sawyer steal some guns.
Has a lot of back story, a main character.
BooneDeceased
Cool as hell dude, who helped Locke out a lot, and was kind of hung up on his sister. Well, she was his step sister, no blood relation, but still. Was killed when he crawled into a heroin filled Plane, and it fell to the ground and he was crushed.
Locke carried him back to camp, but he died.
Jacks dad. Deceased
Jacks drunk doctor dad. Judgemental. Also dead. Died in Austrailia on a long drinking binge, then also made it to the Island in the casket when the plane crashed. Jack found the casket and it was empty.
Ana-Lucia
Trigger happy cop. Shoots at will. Killed Shannon by accident, instantly loved by all. <----j/k
A good guy, but out of control. She led the back of the plane survivors to Jack's camp. Killed by Michael. Deceased
Rose
Thought her husband was lost in the back of the plane, but also knew he was alive. Met her husband, Bernard, at an older age, and got married, shortly before the plane crash. Came to Australia, because Bernard heard about a healer. She was told that she couldn't be cured of her cancer there. Has since been cured, since coming to this island, and doesn't want to leave.
Bernard Rose's husband. Back of plane survivor, reunited with his wife from front of plane.
Libby. (back of plane girl) Therapist, Hurley Love interest. Killed by Micheal. Deceased.
Mister Ekko. Former drug smuggler, current Priest. Seems like a good guy. Tough and courageous.
Cindy.Deseased or kidnapped, don't know which. Back of the plane survivor, made it most of the way with Ana Lucia and crew, but was taken by the others before they reached Jack's camp.
NOT FROM THE PLANE CRASH, OR PART OF THE OTHERS: (or as yet unafiliated)
Crazy French Lady Also known as Danielle Rousseau Trapped on the Island for 16 plus years. Lives in a fort she made, carries a rifle, helps the survivors from time to time. Had a daughter who was taken by the others, and later the kid, who is now 16 or so, helped Claire escape a medical hatch.
Desmond Also known as Hatch dude. Claims he was in a race around the world in a boat and got trapped on the Island. Don't know if he is lying or telling the truth. Met Jack before the Island and seemed to be involved in a miracle healing. But still unsure of that.
Pushed "the button" in the hatch for years, his partner died and he was alone. Ran off into the woods after he thought the computer was destroyed.
Maybe an other, who is playing a ruse on the survivors, or he may be telling the truth.
Update: Not an "other". Turned out to be a good guy. Involved with Mr. Widmore's daughter, Penny. Mr. Widmore seems to be involved with the Dharma group in some way. Desmond showed back up on the Island, after trying to leave in his boat. But was unable to escape.
Alex. Daughter of the crazy french lady, taken while she was a baby. Around 16 years old. Lives with the OTHERS.
Dr. Marvin Candle The fellow on the "Orientation" movie that was found in the bunker. May or may not have a deformed arm. Update, also named Dr. Mark Whitman on Pearl orientation video.

Creepy Boat Other Dude. Also seems to be the Others leader. (pic from hunting party into jungle) Also called "Zeke" by Sawyer, so the name is used for him till we get his real handle.
Seen later clean shaven and well dressed. Uses a fake beard and ragged clothes for some unknown reason.
Update: Still a man of power among the Others, but under "Henry Gale" in rank. Zeke's real name seems to be "TOM".
Goodwin. Deceased. An "Other Spy", who infiltrated the tail section survivor camp, and was outed, then killed by Ana Lucia.
Ms. Klugh (sounds like Clue)

Not quite Henry Gale. Presumably an OTHER, told everyone his name was Henry Gale, and an elaborate back story, which turned out to be a lie.
Update: Looks like "Henry", is over Zeke, in the pecking order of the Others. He may be the ultimate leader, or there still may be someone else above him in rank. Still unclear.

Other who infiltrated the survivors camp. Kidnapped Claire, did some experiments on her and her baby, terrorised the survivors camp, killed some of them, beat the living crap outta Jack, was killed by Hobbit boy. Charlie shot him several times.

just thought i'd say that.
I added that in. Danielle is a pretty name, but to me she will always be THE CRAZY FRENCH LADY who sets dynamite booby traps, steals babies, tortures wandering Iraqi's, and keeps maps of the Island while living in a home made fort with electricity from a line running into the ocean.
Also she keeps Hurley supplied with batteries and sports a neato looking rifle.
