Chapter 1 post #2  quote:

The introduction of the 3 kings of old

Once upon a time there were 3 kings of old, one ruled the southern lands, one ruled from the north, and the third was stuck in the middle.

The northern king, named Helen is the daughter of the great king Gordon, who once ruled over the whole of the great country of Mistelentra, which was many miles away, he had sent is only child to rule over this new place, and have vested her with a great power, the power to heal. She mostly wore pearly white, and her dress glided along the ground as she walked. She was rarely seen, but for when sickness came across her people.

The Midlands king was called Transmere, who ruled with an iron fist, but his laws were lax, so anyone who broke them were automatically banished to the south. The whole land was green and lush, and bore much fruit. The people who lived here had plenty to eat, and plenty of work, and generally lived a good life.

Transmere had not been around as long as the other two kings, but he set order upon the land, which let life prevail. But to punish the wrong doers on his land he sent them to the crimson prince, who lived on the border between the southern lands and the midlands.

The crimson prince sat of a throne of animal bones, and the floor of his cave was littered with many animal and human bones. This cave was long and bore through a large rock face that divided the two lands. As it went further in it narrowed, to a small slit that then opened into a large chamber, with many stalagmites. In the centre was a large pillar that went right up to the highest point of the ceiling but the bottom was split in two, as if two trees had grown spartanly but later decided to join as one, this left a large arch, which ever the tallest of men could walk under. The ground was slippery, with a smiley clear residue that dripped constantly from the ceiling.

In this final room was the black kings throne, it was placed in the opposite end on the chamber to the entrance so you could see it through the throne as you entered, only those who had been banished knew of the secrets of this room, but none had ever returned once they had found them.

Chapter 2 post #3  quote:

A travelling Young man

Timothy had just turned 17 when his father had set him a task; all Timothy was told by his father was that this task will make him a Man, a King among men. His task was collect 5 stones, two would be found in his home town, which was along way from the lives of the three kings of this story. Timothy didn’t know this, but his journey would take miles from his birthplace, taking him over seas, distant and Anchant lands, through dark forests, and into to long caves.

Timothy was given a small bag that would last through the week, but after that, he was to fend for himself. Along with the bag, he was given 5 different coins; one was a shiny silver coin that had the picture of a great white tower, with a big 10 engraved on the back; the second coin had a great big hole in the centre, The only thing written on this coin was written in an enchanted language that he had never seen before; The next coin was a dark black, it was very hard to see what was written on the coin, but when Timothy shaped it from the sun light, beautiful carving made themselves visible in the most vivid gold and red, The lettering around the edge said,

Around in time everyone goes, life and death go hand in hand,
For one to live another must die, but one can cease with a life-giving band

Timothy looked at this coin, trying to figure out what the writing meant, but he didn’t have time, by this point he was being pushed through the door by both his parents out the door.

A quick look at the last two coins Timothy found he recognised them, they were from his own town, they had the crest his king. But these coins were different; they had two letters on the back, in place of the normal number. This confused Timothy, so he tossed them into a small coin bag and vowed to have another look at them later.

Timothy hadn’t walked 20 paces from his house when an elderly man accosted him, he wore a large grey cloak, and it covered his face completely. The man leaned heavily on a flimsy wooden walking stick, which buckled but did not break; evidently this man wasn’t very heavy.

“It’s a stone you are looking for? I see it in your eyes, I know where one is, but it’ll cost you!” Then man took a step back, as if to ask Timothy to follow him. Timothy took one look back, and walked forward, on to the well-beaten path, into the distance, following this to god know where.

They walked passed fields of grass filled with cows, fields full of wheat with a windmill far off in the distance, and many other fields with many other different crops growing in them. The man started to limp as he walked, as if he had forgotten he did before, it was forced, but not false.
After what seemed like for hours a small cottage drew nearer to them, it was very battered, and the windows were boarded up. As it drew nearer, the road was getting withered and Timothy stumbled on the occasional cobalt-stone. But they were getting closer, the closer they got the more distance Timothy felt from home.

As they reached the old wooden door the old man stopped and turned to face Timothy.

“You have the coins, don’t you, you will need on soon, I can not tell yo
u which. Please go in, I will be waiting here for you when you come out”

Timothy wearily went in, carefully opening the door with a tremendous creek. A wind gust inside ruffling a few papers that were on a side table, the top ones falling to the ground.

As he went in further he noticed that the inside was nothing like the outside, it was neat and well looked after. He clutched onto the bag around his shoulder and took a few more paces, as he moved forward he noticed a long staff on the floor, it was pointing towards the next room. Timothy was ever more wary about the next room, as it was dark, none of the lights were on. He slowly walked towards the entrance to the room, and picked up the staff. Suddenly all the lights came on at once, startling him, he stumbled backwards almost falling, but catching himself with the staff.

An elderly man sat in a rocking chair in the far corner, he was fast asleep, and had an empty bottle of whiskey in his limp hand hanging down by his side.

“Excuse me,” whispered Timothy, no reply, he took a few more steps and said again, slightly more loudly “Excuse me,” still no reply, the man was still fast asleep. Timothy then halved the distance between them, and said in a slightly raised tone “Excuse me sir,” The man woke with a start, dropped the bottle on the floor beside him, which crashed with a thump on the stone floor around him. The old man stood up and reached for thin air, as if looking for a walking stick. It was then that he noticed Timothy, holding the staff in his hand.

“What do you want boy?” The old want said, “and what are you doing with my staff” the man caught a chesty cough “give it here”, but without wait, the old man snatched the staff off him and looked into Timothy’s eyes for a few seconds, then said “your hear for the stone, well I don’t have it. And unless you don’t leave now …” he paused to think “I’ll turn you into a frog”
“A frog?” Timothy repeated.

“Yes a big ugly frog”, with this the man commenced pushing him away with this staff.

“Wait” Timothy ordered, “do you know where I can find the stone, I really need it”

“I know you do, but I don’t have it, you’ll have to go back home and say you couldn’t find it … Or you could walk further down this path, follow the river down, and have a look at the big oak tree.” The old man stopped pushing, as Timothy stopped struggling. The old man beamed a smile at him and pointed his staff towards the door.

As he got outside the door closed behind him. The old cloaked man that had brought him here had gone, he was all-alone. He started walking down the road, further from home, away from the cottage, and toward the river.

Chapter 3 post #4  quote:

Journey on

Timothy reached the river much faster than expected the old man that brought him here had trudged along at a slow pace, making the walk feel much longer that it actually was. As Timothy followed the river he drew near to a selection of large trees. A book Timothy had once read told him which was the oak, although it was hard to miss it, it had inscriptions written all the way up to where a tall man might be able to reach without a lift or step-up.

He wondered around the tree for a while, while he looked at the patterns, trying to decipher them.

Then he noticed a small round hole just above eye level. It was exactly the size of the coins he had in his coin bag. He looked at the 5 coins together. The two that were familiar to Timothy looked glimmering. One had a shine to the rime … he picked this one up, and turned it over to reveal the letter, it was now a shining green “O”. He placed the “O” side to the tree and watched it for a bit, the tree creaked and groaned, and the coin turned, as if opening a lock.

After a while everything stopped, and a crack appeared through the coin slot and down the pattern in the tree trunk. Then nothing happened, and after a few seconds nothing continued to happen, while Timothy was waiting, waiting for a sign.

He decided, in the end, to put a finger in the crack. And try to pry it open. He managed to move it a bit, but not great enough to see what was inside. As his finger withdrew from the gap the crack got wider, the creaking got loader, and as the patterned section of the tree peeled away, a small stone lat in the centre, or what appeared to be a stone in the short time Timothy had to see it, the top half of the tree, that happened been pattern was falling onto the stone. Was his task going to be over that easy, with the thud of a log, with the crushing of stone?

Chapter 4 post #5  quote:

Three tasks from the bowmen

The next events brought Timothy into a haze of smoke and mist. A sudden darkness now surrounded him, and a man approached him from behind, and the tree in front of him, instead of the sound crushing stone, there was a resonating wood splitting sound echoing around the area. An aerie silence lasting about a second the rush of arrows filled the air. Timothy looked up in time to see 6 arrows sticking out the tree in a perfect line about a meter apart, the tree split, and each half fell either way, revealing a stump, with a small, grey stone, it was an odd shape, one side was rounded, and smooth, the other was flat, and gagged as if it had been chipped of a round stone. The flat side of the stone was pentagonal, leading Timothy to believe that there could be 5 more stones like this. This was one of the stone in his task!

He placed the stone in his pack, and turned round, to find three men with bows in their hands. They were cloaked in dark green robes, with moss and dirt all over them. They looked rugged, like they belonged in the forest. The middle man spoke, he was old, and had a deep voice, he said

“You have the first stone, but your task is not complete. You must help us, and we will help you … We need 3 items … I need a bow, made of the best wood in the forest of the middle land of 3 kings. Its must be crafted and strung by the best bow maker in that land.”

“And I need some arrows, the straightest the white cloaks can make, they must be strong.” Said a man who appeared much younger than the others and stood on the right.

“And my task will be the hardest of them all, I need a staff, carved from the gold-wood from the arch in the scarlet caves …” said the man on the left, who was the tallest, and had the clearest voice.

“We will give you a boat, but nothing else, you must row south, across the western waters of the three kings, once you see land in the east, row towards it, then let the current take you.”

The three men then pointed towards the river, where a small boat was tied to a tree. When Timothy turned back, the three men were gone, he looked around trying to find them, bet they were now-where to be seen.

He walked toward the boat, and inspected it, he didn’t know much about boats, but everything seemed to be there, hole major holes in the bottom, and there were two ores inside. He untied the not with surprising ease, and pushed the boat the short distance to the river, which rushed passed at a running pace.

The trip was long and tiring, and the sea was wild.

Looking in his bag, he found several things, including a loaf of bread, spare clothes and more importantly, a compass. He checked he was heading south, and grabbed the ores, and rowed as hard as he could.

The journey was perilous and he picked up a few cuts and grazes along the way. It got very late dark when Timothy first felt tired when it was almost pitch black, the stars shone brightly, and Timothy lay in the boat in the now calm sea. The air was fresh. He drifted of, looking at the clear moon lit sky.

Chapter 5 post #12  quote:

The golden city

Timothy woke up with the sun; he must have drifted along away during the night, and the sea was golden, with the morning sun shining on it. Looking into the water showed the gold was made by millions of tiny fish, moving on mass in the same direction Timothy’s boat was travelling. At this point Timothy looked around, looking for some sign of land. But there was no sign of it. He looked at his compass, and noticed he was floating westwards, so he grabbed the ores and rowed east, hoping to get to this distant land.

His rowing lasted an hour, but eventually, he saw land. A glimmering city on the horizon, the first things he saw in the distance was a great tower, it made of white bricks, with gold drapes hanging from the top.

Timothy was silent; he could hear the shore in the distance, but not much else.

Suddenly, A great horn rang out from the land. The current was speeding up, and was dragging the boat toward the land.

The horn drone got louder as he got closer to the white city, and he could now make out figures on the beach, and as he got nearer still, he could hear the people talking, and he noticed they weren’t concentrating on him. He was travelling towards a market.

Timothy heard a voice shout at him from the shore, “through me a rope” the voice said, he did this, and the man caught it, and tide it to a hook on the ground, and pulled the boat towards the land.

Timothy jumped onto the stone floor, with his bag on his back. The man then held his hand out, as if expecting to be paid for his help. Timothy didn’t have any money, so he walked passed the man, as if he didn’t know what he wanted, as if he were a foreigner in a distant land and didn’t know there customs … which he was.

The market was a big place, but everyone seemed to know there way around, picking up strange fruits, clothing, perfumes, and other goods that Timothy had never seen before.

After a while of walking around he noticed that all the shopkeepers looked the same, they were wearing the same white uniform, with some sort of silver trinket in there hair.

The stalls were made of wood, but painted white, and all the good were laid on silk clothes. The market soon ran down an alleyway, which was hard manoeuvre through all the people. It went into the great all that ran around the town.

When Timothy got through all the people and into an empty courtyard he stopped. A passageway ran around the courtyard, with thin pillars so people could see onto the rather large green. Timothy slowly walked around looking at the elegant seats that lined the walkway.

After 10 minutes, 6 large men, wearing elaborate white clothes, approached Timothy and each had long white hair and pointy ears. The man who had helped him tie up his boat joined them.

The man said, “That’s the one, he didn’t pay” pointing towards Timothy and looking at the “large men”.

“Follow us please,” said one of the men, he had a soft slightly echoic voice.

“What have I done?” asked Timothy, wondering why these men were accosting him …

“You’ll find out, just come with us,” said another, giving him a slight push. Five of the men walked with Timothy towards a door near the end of the walkway, while the sixth turned to the man who helped with the boat,

“That’s all, you can get back to you duties now” said the large, elf like man, and the other man walked off towards the market.

The men followed Timothy up a set of marble spiral steps and into a corridor with wooden floors and golden walls; it had many doors running down each side, and had a large oak door at the end, this door had silver handles, and golden patterns making it stunning to look at.

The six of them walked towards the final door, with people stopping what they were doing as they passed open doors, whispering to each other and pointing.

Northern: color white

Southern lands: color black? You haven't specifically talked about this kingdom, have you? It sort of meshes with the crimson prince and his land of banishment for the Midlands King Transmere.

I want you to know that while reading this in my living room, huge winds blew in shutting all the doors inside and to the outside of my house. Even saloon doors in the middle of my house flew.
Wicker baskets and plants fell over and flew to the ground....my house is a mess now.
And now currently there are huge winds.
What have you stirred up in this house?
My cats are growing crazy, I've been mauled.

So are there great and mighty winds in this story for the future?
