Angelina Jolie denies affair with Brad Pitt, again
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has denied rumors that she is having an affair with her Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Brad Pitt. The speculations, which started after Pitt broke up with his wife of four years Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, were further fuelled by Jolie’s assertion that Pitt was one of the best kissers she has met.
“To be intimate with a married man is not something I could forgive. I could not, could not look at myself in the morning if I did that,” she said to celebrity magazine Marie Claire, adding that her father actor Jon Voight had left her mother Marcheline Bertrand when she very young and that has affected her in a big way.
30-year-old Jolie said the final authority on her next beau would be her four-year-old son Maddox, who she adopted from an orphanage in Cambodia. “I am not dating anybody. I think the next man I get involved with would have to become Mad’s father, and that’s a high bar as far as I’m concerned. I’m not anticipating that coming any time soon,” she said. Jolie, however, said she isn’t exactly single since she has lovers she refers to as ‘maintenance men’ with whom she shares ‘intimate friendships’.
She added that she thought Pitt was a great actor and ‘a really great guy’. “He is a very down-to-earth guy. We got on great,” she said.
However, speculations are rife since Jolie was seen with 41-year-old Pitt in Kenya. A tabloid had also carried photographs of Jolie and Pitt holidaying on an African beach with Maddox.
Also, Pitt has recently expressed his desire to adopt a child, like Jolie adopted Maddox.
On a trip to Africa, Pitt visited orphans and said he was looking forward to adopting a child. “I don't see how I can’t have seen what I’ve seen. It makes all the sense in the world. I'm going back in a couple of weeks. There are some kids I want to visit. It's as much for me as them,” he had said.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston filed for divorce in March this year, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the break-up. Jolie has been married twice before - to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. Both marriages ended in divorce.
Jolie said that for now, her focus is on being a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations. “I have seen progress in the issues that I care about, and I’ve started to see how I can make a difference,” she said.
