Okay...Carrie just sang that Angels song again...

THIS was 100 times better than last night.

Bo sang Vehicle again...awesome as usual.

Anyhow...Ryan just asked Randy who he thought would win tonight and he said Carrie...now, we already know that they know and I believe that Randy just gave the answer away, as I doubt that he would say her knowing that the answer was Bo...so I dont see the point of watching it at this point but I will just to hear them sing for the rest of the night....

They predicted her to win as they did with Fantasia, and even with Ruben...and basically, it makes me think that America really doesnt choose the winner more than the judges...so I think we, or at least I, know the ending at this point....but it doesnt matter to me...they will both do great in their life.

So, I just came on to say good luck to both Bo and Carrie...

Either way...they are both winners in my book, and they will both be successful.

It was good talking to everyone in this forum this season...I look forward to next season everyone!

What a great post Mystic.

I think that Bo will do better not being the Idol. He will have more freedom to be who he is musically without the Idol folks trying to alter that. He will do very well. BOTH he and Carrie are winners.

I am drooling waiting for Bo's to come out.

Great being with you all, maybe someday when I am in a nursing home I will get the winner right.. Mystic and me sharing rice pudding each with our cell phones and texting until we pass over to the next world. Hee Hee

Oh...wanted to add:

That was the best results show I have ever seen. The stars that they got to be there were great! Kenny Wayne Shepard...he's probably one of the best guitarists in the world! I love that guy!

Anyways...this was quite a show!

Next year...what Id like to see is for the judges to NOT predict the winner or should I say...they need to make it less obvious that they pick the winner.

Somehow I have a hard time believing that Simon predicted the winner three years in a row without fail. (And that goes without saying if he did it in the first season, for I cant remember if he did it in that one as well). Anyhow...I want to thank Simon for making it more clear that it isnt America that truly picks the winner.

Im not saying that Carrie was undeserving to win the title (because she and Bo both got the same deal, like Ruben and Clay)..she was damn good...Im more saying this because of other winners such as Ruben and Fantasia....but as of today, I dont buy that Simon has been able to accurately claim the winner that many weeks in advance and miraculously it comes true.

Lets face it...we all heard Fantasia sing this year..she was horrible! We all know that Clay outsold Ruben by a long shot (and how does that happen if there are supposedly more Ruben fans?)....

So...lets face it...we all know somehow that the judges get the last word...and I do believe Simon goes to bed smiling each and every night knowing that he knows the outcome weeks before we all do.

Congrats to Carrie....

Congrats to Bo....

You both gave us one of the best Idol seasons to date! Thanks to both for the great talent and entertainment!!! It was worth sitting down every Tuesday and Wednesday to watch!!

BTW....I loved seeing Anthony and Constantine again tonight...I didnt realize how much I missed both of them.

I'm glad to see that there are at least a couple of you you have come to see that I have been preaching for two years now. How many times, in how many ways, can I say "Let the judges judge, not declare the winner." I don't like it, even when it's in favor of my favorite. It stinks. I don't know for sure that they knew in advance who won, but it's not improbable.

Personally, I'd like to see different judges next year, even though I know it'll never happen. But that's a topic for another day, isn't it?

quote:
BTW....I loved seeing Anthony and Constantine again tonight...I didnt realize how much I missed both of them.

My wife & I were both saying, hearing Anthony sing again, that he would have certainly been a candidate to win it all, in a different year. He went against too much talent this year. I also think Vonzell deserved a better result.

In spite of all the controversy and other stuff, against all odds, I think America finally got it right. Like her or not, we will be seeing and hearing a lot from Carrie in the years to come. She's a sure fire country music star. Maybe my 348 votes for Carrie last night put her over the top. They haven't said yet how close the vote was.

I have to say that Bo accepted his 2nd place finish with class, but I think he also probably knows that he'll come out better financially this way.

The show was great, although I didn't especially enjoy more of that same old stuff with the terrible auditions. It's getting kind of old already.

I know you'll take huge exception to this, but my biggest wish for next year would be separating AI into two shows: (1) American Idol and (2) American Rock Star, which I wouldn't watch. I just don't see them as being compatible (my personal opinion, of course). Then, that too, is a topic for another day, right? (He said, ducking, as the TV remotes came flying out of the INReview site)

Anyone interested in seeing an article posted in a London paper on May 22nd?

This ought to interest everyone!!

Britain's stars shine for Europe
By Jason Nisse
22 May 2005

Ten British-based business people have been named among the 25 Stars of Europe by American magazine BusinessWeek. However, only five of them are actually British, showing the international nature of the UK business community.

Among the more predictable names in the list are Sir Terry Leahy, chief executive of Tesco; BT boss Ben Verwaayen; and Nigel Newton, who signed JK Rowling for Bloomsbury Publishing. More surprising are Andrew Black and Ed Wray, the co-founders of Betfair.com; and Simon Fuller, the pop impresario whose American Idol TV competition was won this year by Carrie Underwood.

http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:...n+Nisse.+&hl=en

Now...does America really pick the winner? I think not.

What a slap in the face to us all!!

BTW...I had to show the cached site...if you google the title of the article and go on to the Independent news site...its says the article is not published on the site...but if you cache it, you can see it...thats why I linked you all to the cached page.

Thats an interesting way of hiding something....too bad people like myself cache things....its easier when doing research to get the words highlighted for you.

Check it out..its funny...once you get to the link...after the article, it says below the article again...press on it and it will tell you is not published..BUT IT IS!!!

What a joke people...have we been scammed? Im thinking AZ was right ALL along!!

Unless that's a publishing mistake, that's outrageous. Someone ought to demand an explanation from the producers of the show!

Even though I believe they chose the most worthy contestant this year, that doesn't justify duplicity, if it really exists. I don't think the winners the last two years were the most talented and deserving and I have smelled a rat all along. BTW, that opinion has absolutetly nothing to do with race, for anyone who is inclined to leap to that conclusion. Clay was better than Ruben, and Diana was better than Fantasia. It's as simple as that! For that matter, Latoya and Jennifer were both better than Fantasia.

Sometimes I feel like we're being had, but then I tell myself that maybe great talents like Clay & Carrie might not have been discovered without American Idol, so it might just be a necessary evil.

this site http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/ mentions it too. along with even more juicy conspiracy food for thought here: http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/bl...n_idol_r_1.html

quote:
Bo Bice sang a song called “The Long, Long Road,” which Simon Cowell called “dreary.” While Carrie Underwood sang an original song called “Angels Brought Me Here,” which was not really an original song, but was a hit single by Australian Idol Guy Sebastian. While this is completely unconfirmed, rumors are also circulating on the American Idol message board that Australian voters were also able to vote in last night’s competition.

i do love a good conspiracy theory.

Ron, I don't know that it goes as far as a conspiracy, but it sure does make it look sometimes like the winners may be orchestrated by the producers. In this particular case, it seems mighty peculiar that they announced Carrie as the winner on May 22 over in Great Britain, when the final voting took place here in America on May 24.

Exactly!

This season, Im not saying that they made a huge mistake...either one would have been an okay choice for me...but this doesnt say anything for the past two seasons.

Like you, Im not putting this as a matter of race...it isnt that way. Vonzell could have been on last year and blown Fantasia away. LaToya should have been in the final along with Diana not Fantasia.

We all know, along with everyone else in the U.S. that there were more Clay fans than Ruben fans...(and that is proven in sales alone, if nothing else!).

Based on those two seasons, and given the fact that this info has come to light...I think people are realizing that voting was a waste of time. We didnt decide..they did.

As for you saying this:
quote:
Sometimes I feel like we're being had, but then I tell myself that maybe great talents like Clay & Carrie might not have been discovered without American Idol, so it might just be a necessary evil.

I dont necessarily disagree...but I kind of do. See, I say that they could still pick the people in the process of auditions, and if they tell us that THEY will be the ones that overall choose who wins, then fine...at least I know, and Im not wasting my time on the phone for hours...but to say that WE choose...well, that to me is scamming us.

To me we dont need to be lied to to have these people discovered...they can still do the show and tell us straight out that we dont make the difference...but they want people to think that they choose so that they reel in more viewers.

I dont like to be scammed and lied to by these people.

You were right...Simon knew..the only thing is that he didnt make people vote his way...he already knew it would go his way...because he knew who would win weeks before we knew.

One forum that Larke mentioned also talked about this:

American Idol Gets the Numbers Wrong AGAIN!

quote:
After American Idol messed up the phone numbers the first time resulting in the first ever American Idol re-vote surely it could never happen again. After that embarrassing error, American Idol producers surely put some checks and balances in place to ensure that a similar error could never happen again in a million years. Wrong. It happened again tonight. After Anthony Fedorov's second performance, the phone numbers displayed in the closed captioning were incorrect. As visible in the image above, the first two numbers that appeared were 1-866-IDOLS-01 and 1-866-436-5701, and the last number was Text Vote 5704.

Only the last number is correct. The first two numbers are actually numbers for Carrie Underwood. This error only occurred in the closed captioning. The numbers in the audio and displayed on the screen graphics were correct.

Will this error lead to the second ever American Idol re-vote? Since the numbers only appeared in the closed captioning it is very unlikely that there were many fans that got confused by this error. However, as everyone now knows, Fox does not reveal the total number of votes for each individual contestant. What if Anthony Fedorov gets eliminated? His fans will never know if he got eliminated by a million votes or by a single vote. It could very well be that this error could confuse at least a couple people and send some of Anthony's votes to Carrie Underwood.

Also, even though this error might not affect the outcome, it raises even more questions about the reliability of the American Idol voting system. Obviously, American Idol producers have problems with numbers, and if they can't display phone numbers correctly, then how are we to believe that they can count millions of votes correctly.

Update: Not only were Anthony's numbers in the closed captioning incorrect, but the closed caption numbers were wrong for Bo Bice and Vonzell Solomon as well. As like with Anthony's number, Bo and Vonzell's phone numbers were incorrectly listed as 1-866-IDOLS-01 and 1-866-436-5701, which is the number for Carrie Underwood. This problem could be more serious than first reported. Many people view American Idol in large noisy groups and could possibly be watching the closed captioning for the numbers. These three errors could very well affect the outcome and send additional votes to Carrie Underwood that were not intended for her.

BTW...they never fixed the numbers and the votes were kept the same...they didnt do a re-do show like they did the one time. Unless you have closed cpationing...you would never have seen this...

Did it make a diff? Who knows? See below the closed captioning numbers:

quote:
Probably, the biggest boost to the Carrie Underwood conspiracy theories came recently when a closed captioning error mistakenly showed Carrie’s phone number for the other three contestants. Many fans are suspicious that Fox’s decision not to have a re-vote was because this error happened to benefit Carrie.

Even those troublemakers over at Votefortheworst.com have thrown their support behind Carrie Underwood. After losing both Scott and Anthony, Votefortheworst.com says they found themselves “in a unique situation” because now “the person the producers are pimping to win the whole thing is pretty terrible.”

Personally, we think Carrie is an excellent singer, and she probably has a very good chance at winning based on her own talent. But now that many viewers believe “the fix is in”, it is unlikely that anyone will believe that it wasn’t rigged if she does win.

Carrie looked like she was having fun on stage for the first time last night. She was no where near as stiff.
