Thread open for talk of the final show where they sing and it counts. What will they sing? What should they sing? Who will you vote for to be the next American Idol. Post it all here.

I'd KILL to hear Carrie sing Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time." I think she would wow the world if she'd be allowed to sing that song. What a voice! Just close your eyes and listen to her.
I love that Whiney song...its about my favorite from her...
Unfortunately, for me anyways, I would rather them scrap Whitney altogether...
No one can sing a song like she can, and who wants to hear a version of someone else's songs (everyone tries to sing Whitney JUST like Whitney).
I'd love to hear Carrie sing something strong to showcase her talent...but I want to hear her voice in her own way and not same version of the same song made popular by someone else.
She's done fine singing her own way all along...why would you want to change her into a karioke version of Whitney now?
Im gonna protest now...
SCRAP THE WHITNEY SONGS SIMON!! Please!
Anyhow...I still say Martina McBride is the most perfect for her...she has the voice to pull Martina's songs off in a great way and she can sing it in her own way...thats the beauty of some artists..you can change their music in a way, and no one is trying to compare it to the original artist like someone would with a Houston song.
IMO
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)

Okay, you talked me into it. Martina's about my favorite female country artist today. My all-time favorite is Tammy Wynette. I wish she'd sing one of hers.
If they are singing with others... it's too damn bad that they didn't get Martina McBride for Carrie.... I remember, in season one, when Reba McEntire (Kelly's idol) was brought on, and they did a duet. It was sooooo cool.

Each of the two finalists will sing three songs: one is the single that the crowned "Idol" will record, the second is the song that has been chosen for the flipside and the third is their choice. Bo selected "Vehicle," and for Carrie, it's "Independence Day."
"They will obviously both be having a crack at the single, which will help people make up their minds," says Executive Producer KEN WARWICK. "The song is called 'Inside Your Heaven.' That's new. For the B-side, Carrie will be singing something called 'Angels Brought Me Here' and Bo will be singing, 'Long, Long Road.'"
Then on the two-hour finale on Wednesday, when the new "American Idol" is crowned, there will be a super medley, where each of the Final 12 has a chance to sing with their idols.
"Carrie will be singing with RASCAL FLATTS, Bo will be singing with LYNRD SKYNRD and we've got KENNY G and GEORGE BENSON," Ken adds.
I am listening to an interview with the judges. They want them to do something bold and new for one song. Simon says both play it too safe. He wants to hear something outside of Carrie's "comfort zone". Randy thinks this will be the closest final ever- obviously he forgot about Ruben and Clay. Paula compared it to Ruben and Clay final- very close.
Kris Rucker said this in post #7 : I really love, "Independence Day" but, it's a really sad song.... just powerful, for me.
Good one Kris...you wished it and she is gonna sing it! She will do great at that song!

They are a great band!!
They just won for best vocal group of the year on the American Music Country Awards show last week. Yeah...I watched it...my husband was watching...he's a country music fan.
Not to mention that they are cute!

Who wrote these??
Eegads.
The one song got Bo singing way to low, and the other had Carrie way off key, and too low as well.
I actually agreed with Randy on both of them after their first songs...they had their good points and their bad points.
I didnt like either song...and neither song would make me run out and get the CD for that song alone.

fuscia said this in post #14 : but Mystic, it is tradition that the American Idol winner must sing a really bad song. Let's face it, they give them really bad singles to sing.
Thats SOOO True!
Carrie is a bag of nerves tonight! I thought she would do well at Independence Day...but she was kind of off key to me....but it was still good.
She's making me nervous just watching her.
I think this is where Bo has an advantage...he looks just totally comfortable up there!
