Bo: first ok, second his pitch sucked...constantly waiting for notes to be slurred up to the perfect pitch, but he failed especially at the end. I would vote for him only because of all that hair, but I could go to the zoo for that!
Scott: again, discover your diaghragm and don't pick songs where rhythm is required
Carrie: I enjoyed both of these even though I just endure country...she did a good job
Vonzell: good on both...though it's not a voice I would listen to on my cd player...and I own many CD's in this genre of voice.
Don't know how long I can endure this show. Much like an amateur talent show at a middle school. Thought I'd give it a try though.
Charlotte Church could sing circles around these amateurs as a teenager.
Age has nothing to do with it.
Is raw natural talent all that difficult to inflict on the American public?
My only source of entertainment is these judges reactions.
I have never seen such lame judges of talent. Either they are lame judges of talent or they are lying through their teeth...or mediocrity is all they are used to.
Paula must be on some sort of anti depressant...there is no other explanantion for her reactions.
My assessment of tonight's performances, showing the average of the two for each:
Carrie 10 (perfection personified)
Vonzell 9 (1st song - ehh!)
Anthony 7 (ditto)
Scott 6 (both songs-ho hum)
Bo 5 (first song decent for a change)
"Stand by me" lifted Bo from about a 2 average to a 5 average, but Ben E. King, he ain't.
I said it before. I'll say it again. There is NOBODY still standing that is in Carrie's league. For that matter, neither was anyone who was eliminated already.
fuscia said this in post #12 : Anthony, and you know I love this kid, he did not do very well. The second song was better, but I think my boy is going home tomorrow.
I have a feeling you might be right, Fuscia. Oh well, he has to go some time in the next four weeks. It might as well be now. His voice is not suited for something like "Poison Ivy", I'm afraid. He does ballads much better. That's his style, just as it was John Stevens last year. I know he tries hard to liven things up to try to appease all the rockers out there, but it's just not him. I'm beginning to think more and more that they ought to have TWO AI's, one for the rockers only, so that the non-rockers can just do their thing and be judged accordingly.
Did anyone else but me get the impression tonight that Simon had a method to his madness in his critiquing, like he was trying to make some adjustments he wanted made? No one can ever convince me that those judges don't try to influence and steer the voting.
