Other than the Corey Clark/Paula Abdul rumor, I wonder what will be brought out. I don't doubt that AI has some skeletons in the closet. It'll be interesting to see if any prove valid and, if so, how deep they cut. I don't want to see this show killed because of a scandal, but I wouldn't mind seeing it be made a little more honest.
Crazie said this in post #3 : What is the Abdul rumour?
Corey claims a romantic relationship with Paula before he got booted off Season 2 for lying about his past, and also says Paula promised him big bucks to finance his career if he kept his mouth shut. Paula says he was lying then and lying now. Whether true or not, Corey's in process of writing a book.
Should be interesting to see how this develops. If Corey's lying, he's pretty stupid. If Paula's lying, she's even more stupid.
Articles are going both ways, Its funny she picked him allegedly. What a dork. and so much younger then her.
Claims they had sex in her private "guest room" and she told him not to screw her( is that an oxymoron or plain moron?) or she would hurt him bad Oh Shiver shiver. Its reputed she offered to be his "close friend" and sponsor him for up to 2 million.
Guess the kid is pissed as she hasn't come up with the moolah and now he is yapping and yapping, the dog he is
Currently shopping his "tell all" Book. Certain to be takers.
Paula is probably suing him Oh well the Life of the rich and not so famous, just keeps us in such a tiz. (cough cough)

Life may not be the party I had hoped for.......
But while I'm here I might just as well listen to the music and dance..
I don't believe it. She was in a lot of pain back then. When you are in pain like that, sex is the last thing on your mind. I think this is a case of a kid who is desperate to get some attention. Let's face it, he is not honorable. Honorable guys don't hit their sisters.
I dont know what to believe...he described her house, and everything..and all those phone calls...she certainaly had some sort of relationship with the guy...whether it was sexual, I dont know..but its obvious that she was friendly with him.
She went to that club and met up with him and his friends, and she was seen with him at the store by employees.
Sexual or not..the fact that she was even remotely friendly with the guy by hanging out with him during the competition was a big no-no in my book....and it was certainly unfair to the other contestants.
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)

I don't think it was unfair to the other contestants, it's not like Paula can rigg the voting in any way just because she's seeing one of the contestants.
Weren't there rumours about Simon pashing one of the contestants? And of course there's always the rumours about Simon and Paula supposed to be doing each other.

We're back to the old basic issue, again, as to whether judges can control the voting. I seriously doubt they can control the voting, but (as I have indicated many times) I am positive that they can and do influence the voting-probably enough to swing the results from time to time.
As Mystic said, whether or not the relationship was sexual, it seems pretty apparent that there was at least some kind of improper relationship, and I do think that was unfair to other contestants.
Unafir coz the other contestants aren't getting any nookie maybe, but I don't think it would've made the voting process unfair. I think if anything, if the public knew he was dating Paula while the voting was going on, most people would be inclined to vote him off as he'd be seen as already having a foot in the door via Paula and wouldn't really need the competition to help his career.

It is unfair because she TOLD him what to sing to get favorable reviews from the other judges. Judges do influence the competition. How fair is it if she was paying for his clothes and orchestrating his moves then gave him glowing reviews each week? It is not fair to the others at all.
The thing that disturbed me were all the cell phone calls. Paula should not have had ANY type of relationship with him. She is paid to judge, not to help individual contestants. I don't know if I buy the that they had sex, but I think she did help coach him.
Corey has no class and NO talent. He has a horrible voice. I always wondered why they thought he was any good.
NEW YORK (AP) -- The former "American Idol" contestant who claims he had an affair with judge Paula Abdul said Thursday he won't help Fox investigate his charges.
Corey Clark, the 2003 contestant who said Abdul coached him on song selection, helped buy him clothes to wear on television and eventually initiated a sexual relationship, appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America."
"I don't have any interest in helping 'American Idol' out whatsoever, because they haven't helped me out whatsoever," Clark told ABC reporter John Quinones. "They made it very hard for me to do what I'm doing, which is my career."
Fox issued a statement Thursday saying it had contacted Clark for his help investigating the claims but "that has yet to happen."
"We have concerns about the motives behind last night's purported news special, as much of it was filled with rumor, speculation and assertions from a disqualified contestant who admitted during the special to telling lies," Fox said.
"Regardless, we are absolutely committed to the fairness of this competition," the network said. "We take any accusation of this nature very seriously no matter their source and we have already begun looking into this."
In a statement last week, an Abdul representative said she would not address Clark's "false statements." The representative called Clark "an admitted liar and opportunist who engages in unlawful activities."
The "Primetime Live" special drew 13.8 million viewers on Wednesday, winning its time slot against "CSI: NY" on CBS and "Law & Order" on NBC. The "American Idol" episode aired earlier in the evening was seen by an estimated 24.5 million people, according to preliminary Nielsen Media Research ratings.
Clark, who recorded a song called "Paula-tics" and said he was in love with the pop star nearly two decades his senior, ducked Quinones' question about whether Abdul should be kicked out as a judge.
"I don't know," he said. "I'm not attacking her at all. She just happens to be the key to getting this 900-pound gorilla off my back.
"I think they should look at what I was trying to say, which was that she risked so much to help me avoid the exploitation of the machine called 'American Idol,' " he said.
ABC's "Fallen Idol" special, an unusual critical report by a television network on a rival's hit show, aired during a ratings "sweeps" month, which helps determine advertising rates. It aired a half-hour after the current version of "American Idol" sent home singer Scott Savol to reach its final four contestants.
Fox noted that while judges can offer their opinion, the viewers eventually decide who wins.
"We have gone to great lengths and great expense to create a voting system that is fair and reliable," Fox said.
Clark reached the final 12 contestants in 2003 but was thrown off for failing to reveal a past arrest record.
Gee what a shock. He refuses to help. HELLO! They kicked you off because you lied. What an idiot that boy is.
