Troubled R&B star R KELLY is caught in the midst of a fresh legal wrangle, this time with a former employee who claims he's owed cash.
The I BELIEVE I CAN FLY singer, who is currently awaiting trial on child pornography charges, has had a class action lawsuit filed against him for unpaid overtime wages.
According to the suit, BRANDON NOVAK was a former assistant to Kelly who claims he was fired after complaining.
The suit calls for Kelly and his associates to pay Novak and other employees at least two years worth of unpaid overtime plus damages and legal fees, reports US TV show CELEBRITY JUSTICE.
Kelly has no comment on the suit, which could land him back in court in the very near future.
Yeah, rich people cop it from everyone. This one doesn't seem winable for this Novak fellow though. I mean, unpaid overtime is common and expected for people on salaries, and I doubt he was "damaged" in any way. I guess I just don't see what exactly they're basing this on.
It must be a pain in the ass to be in court all the time...
