Some time ago J.J. Abrams said that one character will be killed off at the end of the season. Right now the obvious answer would be Boone, but I'm not so sure. I recently aquired the latest copy of T.V. Guide which focused on Lost and the guy who plays Sawyer. In the interview with Josh Holloway (Sawyer) he was asked if he could give any clues to who the person might be that dies.
"Look at whose storylines have been developing and whose haven't," he said.
In my opinion, Boone has developed quite a bit, so I don't think it will be him.
My money's on Vincent, but on the offchance that he doesn't count, I'll say Michael.
"Man is a marvelous curiosity ... he thinks he is the Creator's pet ... he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea." Mark Twain

Oh, so it was Boone... I worked late last night so I didn't get to see the ep. So if he's really dead now, does that mean he won't be in the show anymore (other than in possible flashbacks)? With the whole mystery around the island, who's to say that he won't just appear out of the blue, revived and with a clear mind, like Locke and his paralysis but only to a greater extent?
Well, I don't think so. I mean, Locke's legs were useless but not ripped up and beat up and absolutely crippled. In fact, his legs were probably fine, just his spine was messed up or something. I can't really say that because we don't know, but his legs didn't have huge scars on them or anything.
Boone, on the other hand, was crushed and mangled. I don't think the island, even in all its mystery, could heal that.

Oh man, poor Shannon! When Sayid asked if she wanted to go back and she said no I was thinking YESYESYESYES really loudly. That was cruel of the directors.
I never have much liked that way of writing where the dying person dies before they can deliver their message. It wasn't cool when it happened to Theoden and Eowyn in LOTR and it wasn't cool here.
