I'm gonna wait a bit too. I almost went to see it opening day, but thought better due to how busy the theatres were... I'm sure it'll be just as good when I see it next week or the week after...
I've never read the books, but I went to see it on opening day 'cause a bunch of my friends wanted to. Not my cup of tea, what with the total disregard for morals in the torture area, but I still have to admit that they did an awesome job of making the movie feel like a comic book.
Seeing Frodo as a little cannibal who looked like an evil Harry Potter had some weird vibes.. lol

We just saw it tonight. The most violent movie I ever seen.
But it kept me interested. And the black and white film was awesome. Sandy actually watched most of it. Which is rare. She don't watch movies like that.
Man, when Eligah Woods got it, that was gross stuff. Had it coming, but still....
