Local disruptions caused by demonstrators post #1  quote:

*School officials had to shut down Cross Bayou Elementary school, deep in the dead-end street. The road to the school leads past the hospice. Tim Caddell, a city spokesman, said the school's 600 students were taken by bus to other schools in the area. He said the school would remain closed until "it's all over."*

- In addition to disrupting this school's regular schedule and shipping these poor kids off to schools they're not familiar with, the police force has had to increase their numbers at the hospice for security reasons. The demonstrators have been heckling officers, breaking through the police line and many have been arrested. Even Shiavo's parents are becoming fed up with the extremist demonstrators, (while still deeply appreciative of the peaceful ones) denouncing their behavior against the police who they believe are only doing their jobs.

You know I'm all for freedom of speech and the right to assemble, but these people are getting out of control. When police need to divert their manpower and attention away from real emergencies and school kids can't even get to their school, championing a cause turns into creating a huge disturbance. They should move Terri to an undisclosed location and let her die in peace. These people should go home and focus on their own lives.

These protesters claim to be so compassionate. Where is their compassion for those, seventy or so, other patients who are dying in the hospice? There is no peace for them or their families because of the commotion they are making over a woman who has no idea they are there. They are ruining what should be a time to reflect and be at peace with their families. Shame on all of them.

Someone mentioned it before and I heard it on the radio yesterday, a woman raced to the hospice because her grandfather was there and she received word that he was about to die. She raced down there in her pajamas, had to park I would imagine over a mile away, fought through the crowd of protesters who really have no business being there, had to go through extreme security checks and by the time she finally reached her grandfather he'd passed away 1 minute before she arrived.
The crowd has now taken to calling the police officers "SS Soldiers" and "Nazi Sympathizers" They've also painted a swaztika on the American flag.
There's a guy that called into a local talk radio program yesterday, he lives blocks from the hospice. He went by there and told the people that there are other people dying in the hospice and they should go home and let them be. A demonstrators told him he had no business to be there...he asked the guy "Well where are you from?" The demonstrator told him he lived in Indiana. Then another demonstrator told the guy he didn't know the pain of losing a child. He replied; "You don't know me, I lost a baby in uterus years ago" The demonstrator then told him "You're an idiot, the term is 'in utero'."
If I was that guy I would be in jail for cracking those people in the head.
