Did Bush know steroids were being used by its star athletes? General Managers are hired to watch over the owner's million dollar investments. I can see him turning his head.
i think only Bush can be 100% sure of the truth of the accusations. and to bring this up now is no more relevant than bringing up the question of how much Clinton turned his head away from what the chi-coms were stealing from us. but i do think congress has better things to deal with than MLB right now.
so if we're going to single Bush out for an inaction that built upon the countless inaction of others, then you have to do the same for Clinton. yeah, i'm certainly no fan of Clinton, but our secrets leaking to the chi-coms falls on the shoulders of many more people than just Bill Clinton. so i'm just saying that to ask a question like this of Bush, just because he's Bush and you don't like him, you should be unbiased enough to do the same for Clinton or any other politician or leader that you do agree with.
oh, and let me just clarify that i have nothing against China's general population. they're good people with a rich culture. i just don't care for the Chinese government.

you are why Bush gets away with everything. its our responsability to keep our politicians accountable.
accountable for what? you're just going on the word of an admitted user that lied about his drug use for years. and now just because he says something is so you're going to blindly follow? i should no more blindly follow a leader than you should propagate an accusation that has not been proven. this has nothing to do with his being commander in chief and noticeably absent is any response to my condemnation of clinton in your post.
so where does that leave us? you on the one side and me on the other with absolutely no middle ground and nothing accomplished. i might have more respect for the question if it's aim where to incite meaningful discussion and thought, but all you are trying to do is find a reason to bash Bush.

their isn't a middle ground because conservatives nevr admit whem when they are wrong. how can you have a " meaningful discussion" when the other point of view is not considered. FOX is good at doing this.

Malcolm...are you really this political ALL the time?
You did know that steroids have been used by ball players for much longer than Bush has been in office....didnt you?
Steroids have been around for a long time.
You didnt think this was a new phenomenon did you?
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)

isn't it his job to know? a general manager is suppose to moniter the team to keep scandals from happening. they are the manager's manager. bush didn't do his jjob . again.

and liberals can admit when they are wrong? ask anyone on this board who knows me if i will admit when i'm wrong and they will all give you the same three letter answer.
and i have considered your point of view and rejected it as nothing but trying to bait a conservative into an argument.
Mys, I think malcom is referring to, prior to being president, Dubbs was part-owner and managing general partner of the Texas Rangers MLB organization.
With the steroid investigation swirling, some are asking if Bush might have known about his players using steroids. Jose Canseco, whose book lit a flame under this controversy, played for the Rangers when Bush owned the team in the early 1990's.
So, since Canseco admitted to using steroids during this time, Bush either didn't know about it or looked the other way.

Heh...I forgot he was!
Regardless though...if you blame one..then you have to blame all the other managers as well.
They all knew it....they all turned their heads...I mean lets face it...the public knew it...and they knew it too.
Blaming this only on Bush when there are a ton of other managers as well?
Still though...my point still stands...steroids were around longer than when Bush was part-owner of that team...so to point fingers at only guy as opposed to them all...thats just wierd to me.
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)

Asserting that steroids in baseball are somehow Bush's fault is crazy talk, I agree. They were there before and certainly after his dip into pro ball. And if he did know something, certainly he wasn't the only one in management of any team that had that knowledge. It doesn't excuse it, however, if he is guilty. Good luck proving it though, eh?
Personally, I think Bush's relationship with the Rangers was purely financial. There are some reports that indicate some swindles Dubbs and co. perpetuated against the city, resulting in Dubbs' initial $650,000 investment turning into something like $14,000,000. But that's a different topic entirely...
