“Survivor: All Stars.” Amber won the one million dollar prize, and Rob finished as the runner-up. During the live finale of the show in May 2004, before the outcome was even announced, Rob proposed to Amber, while she wore a t-shirt with the inscription, “I Love Rob!”
Even before Ron posted the above I was rooting for the people I recognized (Rob & Amber & POW Ron). This is my first time watching TAR (The Amazing Race) but I am hooked already.
(I have to tape it because I am not at home at the time it is on).
I would love to travel around the world but I would rather not have to rush through such a great adventure.
It is to bad the "hillbillies" lost so soon as they were very interesting characters!

I agree Ben...the hillbilly boys were interesting guys.
I dont wish to see Amber and Rob win...though I do like Rob. He is who he is, and it cracks me up to see people get so mad that he lied on survivor...well duh! I mean Id tell a few white lies on a show if I thought I could win a million bucks!
I dont want them to win because I think they have won enough money already and its time for someone else to win something.
Anyhow..they didnt even have to go through the same channels as everyone else to get on there. They said they would like to be on the show and the producers just let them slide in. I dont think that was fair to other people that went through the right channels to play...but thats just how I feel about it.
Id like to see Ron and Kelly or Susan and Patrick win.

The producers are looking for people that will help the ratings.
When Rob and Amber applied they probably jumped for joy knowing that they had a high celebrity profile and would help the show get good ratings. Really not much different than when they checked the non-celebrity contestants to look for contestants that would increase their ratings.

Their ratings seem to have done well without high profile people. I mean I watch regardless of who is on...
here is the rating for the previous season (Season 6):
The Amazing Race 6, which regularly wins its time period in key demographics , is currently averaging 11.27 million viewers, a 4.5/11 rating/share in Adults 18-49 and a 5.1/11 in Adults 25-54 .
I dont think that Amber and Rob have made the ratings shoot through the roof or change anything that was done in the previous season...unless you can prove me wrong after the season is over and we see how they fared against the previous season.

I don't know Mystic, but I wasn't able to watch any of the previous Amazing Races in years past because it was on when I was traveling between work and home. But my friends convinced me to watch it.(plus I wanted to see what Rob and Amber would do)(so now I record it on my VCR, and now I am hooked). I would love to travel around the world (but not in such a hurried fashion, at least they do get to interact at times with the culture, but in strange ways (are those Chilians laughing at us americans? can we really blame them.)ol:
Anyway I am now wishing I had the adventurism of my youth back (I would travel anywhere, without any worries and even at times with no money and no ticket back) Now I rarely leave the Monterey Peninsula for fear that I might get stranded somewhere and not be a able to return in time for my job. (oh how youth is wasted on the young)

I would love to go to some of the places they go to. Except some of the places are a bit scary. I don't think I would like them. Of cousre they get a bad image of Americans especially some of the ones from the show.
