I don't know if y'all heard this but Houston tried committing sucide in London in his hotel room by jumping off the balcony, his security personnel stopped him and locked him in the hotel bathroom and he gouged his eye out. And let me tell his eye looked so nasty.
It's disgusting. It looks revolting. I don't understand why you would want to gouge your eye out. Insane

After being thwarted in a suicide attempt in a London hotel room, R&B singer Houston gouged his own eye out.
On Thursday Houston attempted to jump out of a 13th-floor hotel window but was stopped by his security personnel, sources close to the singer said. He was moved to a lower floor and locked in his room, where he injured himself. Additional details are still coming to light, and photographs of his injury are circulating online.
The Los Angeles native, born Houston Summers IV, was overseas for a series of performances when the incident occurred. He scored a hit last year with "I Like That," which featured Chingy and Nate Dogg and was used in a McDonald's commercial (see "Houston Scores Club Hit With Help From Chingy, Nate Dogg"). His debut album, It's Already Written, was certified gold a month after its release in August.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Houston during this tragic time," a Capitol Records spokesperson said.
Los Angeles radio station KKBT-FM's K-Sly, who appeared in the "I Like That" video and is close to Houston's camp, said the singer had been under psychiatric care last year for manic depression. Another source corroborated that claim, adding that Houston had also struggled with PCP.
"I was told he wanted to commit suicide and stabbed his eye out," K-Sly said. "He was telling people he was Jesus and wanted to go home to his Father."
A poster on Houston's official site claiming to be the singer's DJ has posted a message denying claims that Houston attempted suicide. "Thanks to all of you who support my boy Houston," DJ Rampage wrote. "I am his DJ and I am with him almost all the time each day on tour and I would like to say this:

HE DID NOT CUT HIS EYE OUT
HE DID NOT TRY AND JUMP OUT OF ANY WINDOWS

This "accident" he had that injured his eye must've been pretty bad from the photos.
But then again, really, who tries to kill themselves by gouging their eyes out? Who does he think he is? Oedapous? (sp?)
Was he high on something? Where the heck did he get the idea that he was Jesus, or that he should be saying that sort of thing OUT LOUD even if he really believed it?
Where are all the photos? I haven't been able to find any...
K-Sly of 100.3 The Beat in Los Angeles posted a gossip update on Houston's condition.
She writes, "All this happened while he was in London without any management present. I was informed that his management contract has expired and the parties are not in good standing. Houston's security guard, Marco and his DJ, LA's own Rampage were with him during the trip, but not in the room when the incident happened. I've spoken with various sources about the alleged suicide attempt and the self-inflicted wound. Today, DJ Rampage explained to me that Houston never tried to commit suicide. Sources did state that he did stab his eye. Presently, he is not able to see out of the wounded eye and the other one is infected. Houston has been battling spiritually and mentally, to the point where he is unable to control it. He needs support, not fame. He needs prayers, not laughter."

Bushwick Bill, of legendary rap trio The Geto Boys, who forced his girlfriend to assist in his suicide attempt, and she accidently shot him in the eye, weighed in on news that Houston apparently gouged himself in the eye while in London.
"The advice I would give to Houston or to any other artists who are either up and coming, or who are already established, and are going through mental storms right now, is this: You need to be rooted and grounded with the same love you have your family and God to yourself," he told Ballerstatus.net.
"Since God wanted you to be an entertainer, you need to look to God more and less to yourself, because we as artists are confused as human beings, and then lack of knowledge pulls us into different directions. You are put in the position where you have to smile when you are sad and be gracious when you are depressed, and not everybody knows how to play the roles that fame requires. Some people wear their life on their sleeves, and they wear their emotional life on their face, which broadcasts their situation like a news station. When some people can't handle that, can't cope, they start to fall apart."

A person who claimed to have spoken to an immediate family member of Houston relayed the following message on the singer's official forum: "Houston is 'laughing, smiling and in good spirits.'
Houston was in London, he indeed had an 'accident'. The suicide rumors stem from business contacts gone sour. Admittedly, Houston has been under 'stress'."
