Golden Globes 2005 post #1  quote:

Globes TV: Housewives' Hatcher Wins

Teri Hatcher's comeback from doting mum to award-winning A-lister is complete after she scooped a best actress gong at the Golden Globes for her role as Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives. It proved a successful evening for the hit show, which also picked up the coveted best television series (musical or comedy) award.

Hatcher, who took a seven-year break to raise her daughter, beat her show's co-stars, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman, for the award and immediately thanked US television network ABC for giving her "a second chance at a career when I couldn't have been a bigger has-been".

HATCHER FORGOT TO THANK HER FOLKS

Forgetful "Desperate Housewives" star Teri Hatcher begged journalists at Sunday night's post-Golden Globes parties in Hollywood to help her thank her parents. Hatcher, who won a Best Actress prize for her role on the hit soap, forgot to mention her parents in her acceptance speech and was upset when she realized.

She told one journalist, "It was a huge error on my part, but it was surreal up there. I also forgot to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who gave me the award. I really wanted to thank my parents, Owen and Esther, but I forgot. I was out of my mind while I was up there, but without them I wouldn't be where I am now."

GOLDEN GIRL'S FUND GESTURE

DESPERATE Housewives star Teri Hatcher stripped off her Golden Globes dress to raise cash for tsunami victims. The stunning actress gave away her silver Donna Karan dress to help those hit by the disaster.

She wowed the crowds with the backless dress at the ceremony on Sunday night.

Liam Neeson also donated his Armani tuxedo to the online event, which was organised by the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation. The highest of 10 online bids for Hatcher's dress has reached $3000, with Neeson's tux pulling in an offer of $1500.

The black tuxedo Ewan McGregor sported at the awards is also being auctioned and has attracted a $500 bid. The auction is due to end next Sunday. Charlize Theron, Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson and Charlie Sheen are among the other celebs who have donated outfits.

The auction can be found atwww.clothesoffourback.org
