Wearing thongs to Melbourne's beach, local parks or out on the street could cost you $500 and perhaps jail time.
Tuesday night, the Melbourne City Council voted unanimously to stop the super-skimpy swimwear amid a series of new adult entertainment regulations. Brevard County has banned thongs since 1995.
Melbourne council members also slashed the city's adult entertainment zone from 937 acres to 40 acres along North Drive.
During the meeting, a small contingent from the American Association for Nude Recreation in Kissimmee unsuccessfully lobbied council members to delay any nudity decisions.
Is this a step forward in restoring a sense of cultural values, or is it a step backward in infringing upon peoples' pursuit of happiness?
For a second there I thought they were banning the use of sandles. Cus' in Australia they call em' thongs.
Hmmm... if they want thier ass showing well then tough ****. It is harmless and isn't really that revealing compared to what I've seen girls wear in my school.
girls wear more revealing clothing than thongs around campus? That must be a sight. Back in my highschool days (89-93) the most risque attempts were perforated sports jerseys where you could see their bra through it. That was a send-home offense. Some of the girls also pulled tricks with short skirts subtly letting guys get sneak peeks up the middle. Otherwise it was more about BEHAVING sexy than looking sexy I guess.
Well, girls don't just wear a thong to school and no pants. Either the waist strings are pulled up a little above the pants or they wear really really tight pants which reveal everything or they wear skirts which are as high as yeah. You get the point. One bend over or slouch in a chair and yeah.
It don't bother me because the girls are 'alright'
That's more than a little distracting in what is supposed to be an academic environment. When I was a kid I was against it, but I'm all in favor of uniform dress codes in public schools. It addresses quite a number of psychological issues that extend well beyond what you've described here, chodder.
They get mad when you 'look' too. I mean c'mon the whole point of them wearing clothes like that is to get attention. And I aint afraid to give it to em' (along with anything else)
chodder said this in post #12 : They get mad when you 'look' too.
It's an act. They love it and can't get enough. But you have to play along with the act too, or the fun is over - which ain't no fun! Still I think it's a shame that our youth are focused on such things. My girl won't be stuck on that trip.
