First, manager-dad (or is it dad-manager?) Joe Simpson was pretty gushy in a recent article in GQ. But is it really appropriate to speak publicly, and lovingly, about your daughter's breasts? Here's the quote:
quote:
"Jessica never tries to be sexy. She just is sexy. I fyou put her in a T-shirt or you put here in a bustier, she's sexy in both. She's got double D's! You can't cover those suckers up!"
Regarding younger daughter Ashlee, Joe nixed plans for her to play a lesbian in her film debut titled "Wannabe" (insert joke here). Joe says:
quote:
"I changed it. It doesn't work for her to be gay the first thing out. 'It's cool for a woman to be a lesbian,' and I'm like 'That's true, but not her first role.
She's (Ashlee's) going to be a huge movie star: She's like Meg Ryan or Cameron Diaz, with probably more depth."
Ummm... probably.
Nick also has several new projects in the queue. Thankfully for those of us who watched the VH-1 Big in '04 Awards Show, none involve any kind of hosting duties. First up, a new (and reportedly) last season of Newlyweds in January. And Entertainment Weekly reports the following: a new album and MTV reality series ("The Nick Lachey Project") about Nick's search for a new record label -- and the biggest news, that Fox has signed the 31-year old to star in a sitcom written and produced by Etan Cohen of King of the Hill. Lachey would play a retired baseball player who returns home to his dysfunctional family. No anticipated air date or other casting news were mentioned.
No word yet on another Nick & Jessica variety show...

When Jessica Simpson was 12, her father Joe gave her what he called a promise ring, vowing to be the man in her life until she got married.
"I was serious about saying to Jessica, 'You know what? I am gonna be the dad that tells you how beautiful you are everyday, and I'm gonna be the dad that says even when you make a mistake you're still special, and I am gonna do that until the day you find a man who will do it and take my place so that's what the ring was about," Joe told 'Access Hollywood' co-host Billy Bush.
OK, The Simpson parents are just getting creepier and creepier:
quote:
SIMPSON HAD HER LEGS 'STRETCHED' BY MOTHER
Jessica Simpson's mother used to pull the pop beauty's legs every night, in a bid to stretch them to a decent length.
Tina Simpson was so worried about her daughter's "long body and dwarf legs" she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Jessica says, "My mom was so worried that I would grow up looking strange. So every night before I went to bed, she would pull my legs and stretch them so they would be in proportion with the rest of my body."
Tina explains, "Well, they were just so short!"

That sort of thing does work. I had two toes crossed over eachother when I was born and my mum used to masage them apart and uncross them all the time and now I have normal toes. But that was neccessary for me to walk properly, Jessica has pretty long legs now so it's obviously wasn't neccessary for Tina to do the strecthing.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that spies say an off-Strip hotel offered Jessica Simpson more than $20 million guaranteed for a 30 week concert run, with five performances per week. The deal fell through when her father insisted on $1 million a week, and some now wonder if she regrets her father playing hardball.
Is that one of theose Celine Dion type shows? That would be cool.
The difference between $20 and $30 million for seven months work isn't worth getting in a stink over. Joe Simpson should have taken the $20 million deal. That would've been a hug big deal to Jessica's career.
Although Celine Dion's career has kind of slowed down since she started doing her show in Vegas. It seems she doesn't have much time for anything else and I wouldn't want to see that happen to Jessica , she does so many things, it would suck for her to be tied to a contract and have to slow her life down.
Jessica Simpson attended an interview for a major film role last year with her father/manager, Joe.
When it was over, and Jessica had left the room, Joe approached the casting director. "I don't think that went too well", he suggested, not even waiting to find out, "But I have my other daughter Ashlee in the car; can I bring her in?"
Joe Simpson sure has got some nerve. I wonder if he actually sees his children as people or just as a money making excercise to be marketed, marketed, marketed.
He's creepy looking Neither of the girls look like they really want to be there and be hugging him. It looks like they're indulging him and afterwards they're going to run away and ***** about him.
