NICOLE RICHIE has such a huge fixation with BRITNEY SPEARS, she often acts like a "teeny-bopper schoolgirl" whenever she hears the pop beauty's music.
Nicole - herself an aspiring singer - admits she can't get enough of the TOXIC singer and would love to get the opportunity to meet her one day.
She tells STUFF magazine, "I cheese out on Britney Spears, but I also love METALLICA. I've never met her. And she's the only person I care about meeting. I love her.
"I'm like a teeny-bopper schoolgirl when it comes to Britney. I'm, like, obsessed."
Cult singer MORRISSEY has launched a blistering attack on pop beauty BRITNEY SPEARS - describing her as "the devil".
The outspoken IRISH BLOOD, ENGLISH HEART star finds the TOXIC superstar "obviously vacuous" and worries she is a bad influence on her young fans.
Sharp-tongued Morrissey blasts, "I certainly think Britney Spears is the devil.
"The way she projects herself and the fact that she is so obviously vacuous. I think it's such a shame that she became so influential to very small children."
And the former SMITHS frontman is also scathing about the current onslaught of reality TV talent shows, saving much of his venom for SIMON COWELL's hugely-successful AMERICAN IDOL.
He adds, "Idol is an easy target, as the contestants are really just very simple children who are manipulated by truly awful grown-up people."
Us Weekly had Paris Hilton share her thoughts on celebrity couples.
She said of Marc Anthony and wife Jennifer Lopez: "They look hot together. It's a pleasure to see two people so in love."
As for Britney Spears and hubby Kevin Federline, Hilton said, "[Britney] looks so happy with him these days - they're very cute together and they will have hot kids."
Australian singer KYLIE MINOGUE empathises with the way BRITNEY SPEARS is being treated by the media - but she warns critics to write off the TOXIC beauty at their peril. It took the CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD chart-topper years to successfully break away from her bubble gum pop beginnings and she can't imagine Spears sinking into obscurity either.
The 36-year-old says, "I wouldn't take her out of the game yet. I feel for her because I've been through exactly what she's going through, where you've been so successful, suddenly you're not as successful, and people think doomed to failure. She's a force. Whatever she does, people will take notice."
That is so true, look at how many people are still talking about her, copying her, etc, she's been named most annoying and one of the most fascinating people of 2004. Britney will always be there.
In the March issue of FHM there's an article about Tommy Hilfiger, and they asked him what some of his best memories were of people he's worked with over the years. Among others, he mentioned Britney. He talked about the day she came to do the photoshoot for Tommy jeans back in '99, and "her album" (of course she only had BOMT at the time) went #1 on the very same day. Anyway, they asked him what Britney was like back then and he said, "Innocent. Young. Very impressed."
While that was a nice comment, my question is, why does it seem like a lot of people remember Britney as being innocent back then? She was never innocent from the beginning. Her debut video with her in the sexed-up Catholic school uniform immediately stamped a sexy image on her. Her first Rolling Stone cover with her in her bra and so forth solidified it. And the list goes on from there. I admit that the person of Britney was innocent, and maybe that's what he's referring to, but the persona of Britney never was.
Pop superstar CHER has attacked younger chart rivals BRITNEY SPEARS and JENNIFER LOPEZ, labelling them "hoes".
The singer lashed out during a concert in Auckland, New Zealand, during the Australasian leg of her farewell tour.
Cher explained her decision to quit touring to the 20,000 fans, saying "I'm not going to give up show business, but there are new girls coming up like Britney and J.Lo."
But when the crowd booed, the superstar turned on her contemporaries, snapping "I know. They are hoes, aren't they?"
Cher's not exactly an angel. She pushed the envelope heaps when she was younger. I think if Cher was the age of Britney and Christina, etc now, she'd be doing very similar things to what they're doing.
A rep for Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez responded to a report that Cher referred to both as hoes during a concert in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday night. "For someone who has had their fair share of bad press, it is surprising she would comment on two women she hardly knows," the rep told The New York Post.
BRITNEY SPEARS has hit back at pop legend CHER after the veteran singer branded her a "ho" - despite the fact the pair will star together in forthcoming movie IN THE PINK.
Spears was reportedly left fuming when the BELIEVE singer criticised her in front of 20,000 fans at a gig in Auckland, New Zealand, during the Australasian leg of her farewell tour.
Cher famously said, "I'm not going to give up show business, but there are new girls coming up like Britney and J.Lo." But when the crowd booed, the superstar turned on her contemporaries, snapping "I know. They are hoes, aren't they?"
According to British newspaper the DAILY SPORT, the TOXIC beauty told friends, "I wanna know just who's the ho, Cher?"
A close friend confides, "This remark by Cher has been very upsetting to Britney because she always looked up to and admired Cher. Now she feels she's been stabbed in the back. She told me, 'Before she starts calling anyone a ho, Cher should take a look in the mirror.'"
Relations between Spears and Cher first became strained when Cher pulled out of a duet with the 23-year-old at the last minute three years ago (02).

I think that was when Britney performed "The Beat Goes On" for an awards show.
'Extra' host Mark McGrath caught up with 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell to get his views on today's top female pop stars, including Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Destiny's Child star Beyonce Knowles, Britney Spears, and Jessica Simpson. "I was a fan of Britney's early records," Cowell said of Spears. "When I see her doing the whole Madonna thing, it's rather like watching if I had a little sister, her put on makeup for the first time. You sort of go 'don't!'"
