Arrow Possible UFO sighting, you be the judge? post #1  quote:

- I dont know whether the pics show a UFO, or what? Im confused, these pics were taken about 8 months back in California. I have a few pics, there are only two different pics, 1 taken right after the other. I always take an extra shot incase one doesnt develop properly. But anyway, 1 pic shows a possible UFO on the upper left hand side. In the pic taken a few seconds later (3-4 sec.) the object is in-between a tree, or something, I dont know look for yourself. Have any of you seen this, or know what it may be. Im not to into the UFO thing, so I dont know much. It may be a military craft, I dont know? I also noticed 3 other objects, they were black/silver whatever, but were those possible crafts as well, or birds? The thing that makes me believe they werent birds, is when I took the second shot a few sec. later, they were gone, and 1 had travelled all the way to the tree part? I dont know a bird that fast, lol. Anyway, like I said any help would be appreciated, and you be the judge, because Im confused, lol.

This pic shows the "craft" in the upper left corner, and two black figures, also zoomed in on those.

This pic shows the third blackish object near the trees and the zoom in on it.

This pic shows the "craft" zoomed in, very poor quality, sorry.

Ok heres the second pic taken 3-4 sec. later, the blackish objects are both gone, but 1 remains by the tree? Also zoomed in on this, look a little above the zoom in and you will see the object normal size. You can also see the "craft" in the tree.
http://www.geocities.com/sc0tt_peters0n/things5.JPG

This is the same pic, but the "craft" zoomed in, look a little above the zoom in to see normal size, also the blackish figure normal size, same pic as the one above just different zoom in.

- These are the only two photos i have. They are very interesting. I like the second pic better because the "crafts" quality is better. Anyway help!

Are these digital or film pics? If they are film, then I will vote for the blurry spots as being dirt or some spots made during the development process. If not, then they may be related to the main object - very interesting! I don't think it's a paper bag, bud

Ok for one with the appature that was used anything at that distance should be in focus. At the setting that these pics were taken everything past say about 8 - 10 feet to infinity would be in focus. Anything closer than that would not be in focus. Therefore that can only leave one or two possible explanations.

gray blobs
1. Something is closer than 8 feet which could either be dust or bugs. Being this is summer I will go with bugs.

2. The second possibility is dust in the dark room most likely on the lens of the machine used to expose the print.

3. Dust on the negitave.

Object in top left.

My guess is that it's the wing of a bird or the leaf of a tree nearby. Again on how blury it is, it could also be a bug that flew across in front of the field of view.

excellent point - hardly warrants any further explanation

- yeah, i thought about that, and thought it could have been distance but most likely not. i asked a friend of mine, he said if the object was going fast as it appeared, it wouldnt come out clearly, which i agree to. an object moving at speeds like this a camera wouldnt possibly be able to capture a clear image. its like moving your hand quickly infront of the camera, itll come out in a blur. the leaf thing is a possibility i didnt think of, thats clever. thanks for the opinion. ron ive seen you post on this ufo type stuff, i would like your imput on the speed posibility, thanks in advance.

That would be true close up. Like going to a NASCAR or horse race. Since you are within a few hundred feet, you either have to pan the camera to keep the object in focus or everything else is in focus and your object is blury. This can be overcome by using a very high speed film like 400 or 800 ASA. As the object get farther away their movements are less prevelant. Take for instance taking pictures outside of your car while moving down the highway. The farther the object the more in focus. You are still moving at the same speed but objects right outside the window are blury while that mountain over there is not. Same is true for flying objects. In the photo above the object appears to be just over that cloud. Almost like it could easily go behind the cloud. At that distance it would be in focuse no matter how fast it was moving because of the distance, time of day, appature speed and opening. On a sunny day your appature speed is very fast. I live within 10 miles from an Airport and under the flight path. These aircraft are still flying over 200 knots maybe more. If I go out and take a picture that aircraft would be in focus.

If this is such a stupid topic why are you reading it and why are you posting in it. Is it just to increase your post count.

Oh and save the chat shorthand lingo for chat rooms. This is a forum and you are expected to at least try to spell and form your sentences correctly.

Well, there isn't like any rule here that says we have to spell right to be able to post opinions here. What's your problem? If you can't understand gurutrish, you can tell her in a less negitive manner.

Peace.
