DPRK? What's "Democratic" about a fanatical dictatorship. I swear this Pyongyang guy just like the smallest, most viscious sounding yapping little ankle-biting rat-dog you ever came across. One swift kick and he'll be pounded into the wall and silenced for good.
Maybe the U.S. reform solution to the "DPRK" situation should be to move in and manually unify the North & South. I'm sure there are a lot of families who would greatly enjoy being reuinited. That is - assuming the U.S. is justified in sweeping around the world and reforming anyone they please.
I wonder if NK would be crazy enough to (or threaten to) launch a nuke on the south and then storm in to over-take the entirety of Korea in its weakened state with their strong troop forces. Probably fear of retaliation from the outside is the only thing that keeps them from doing this now...
Truth be told N.Korea does not want any trouble with other Asia Pacific countries so invading S.Korea would not be high on their list of objectives for the near or distant future. In all honesty though if N.Korea wanted to take the South it could have done it any time, with the size of the army amount of weaponry that they have they could have done it with only a few setbacks , but it would appear that other factors have thankfully stopped the North considering that possibility of fininfhing the war once and for all.
Not only could SK not afford NK. It is both ways. NK does not have the ability to support another country ecconomicaly.
History tells us that since 1953, NK has been full of hollow threats designed to leverage aid and reduce sanctions. All bark and no bite. They have the teath but no backbone to actually bite. It would completely destroy their ecconomy to launch any attack on anybody.

Maybe I guess the real threat to the world is that N.Korea puts any plans on hold ( if it has any plan at all ) and does a China for 5 - 10 years to build up it's economy.
Well that and their obvious desire to export weapons technologies based on their objection to the according redline condition that forbids it. That's not only a significant threat, but it says to me that they have built out the weapons technology without regard for ethics and fully intending to monetize those efforts and saturate their economy with the cash...

The problem with accussing other governments of breaking international law is that people might start looking at their own countries and wondering why they only abide by international law when it suits them.
The arms industry is one big fat unethical business. The amount of time our own troops have been shot at with weapons we made and sold seems to teach us nothing.
That's exactly why we need to keep our finger on NK, Iran, Syria and Pakistan.
Allowing them to create and distribute Nukes is against everyone's interest.

Haven't you heard USA1? We paid Pakistan right after Afghanistan to be our ally so we're no longer worried about them. Besides, they've had nukes for years.
Look, the reason NK hasn't invaded SK is because of the US. SK is a thriving democracy. NK is in economic ruin. KJ's rhetoric is aimed at raising stakes, stakes in which he knows he cannot afford. It is a desperate attempt to gain resources from a desperate country on the verge of collapse.
He could ill afford to invade the SK. Crazy? Yes but stupid he is not. Militarily the US would squash them in the end. Besides, they couldn't even afford to gas up to keep their planes going should war break out.
It's worth keeping an eye on but nothing more. One false move would definately spell their demise.

I think in case S.Korea or outside force liek the US attacks NKorea first, their commanders will launch a nuke at somebody - be it Japan, S.Korea, Taiwan, or any other US ally in the region. I doubt they have missiles that would reach the US, so if they really do have nukes, they would use it if they knew they are goign to be destroyed.
All the talks now are aimed at getting some financial/humanitarian aid from the US. Nobody is going to attack anybody in the near future. More than that, i think the N.Koreas leadership will collapse itself, sooner or later.
